self retirement ,no one will retire, unless booted out like100*100
by Rahul Ekbote on Feb 22, 2012 05:05 PM  | Hide replies

Actual difference between India and Srilanka is with respect to 2 batting slots. Its totally shameless that the Indian team is still persisting with Sachin and Sehwag. Playing with Sachin is just like playing with 10 people because everybody knows he will get out before scoring 25 runs. Sachin's stature build up mostly is due to the hype created by the media and some fanatic section of the public. Some people in this forum still boast that he scored well in some non-important matches and underline the importance of playing him again. Facts and statistics prove that he is never a match-winner or kind of tough player who can turn around fortunes in favour of India in tight situations. Even Dhoni has turned around things for India in tight situations. Its difficult to believe why India still has place in the cricket team for Sachin. If it was sensible cricketing board in any other country, they would have shown Sachin the exit door long way back. Even though he has played 5 world cups, he was never able to carry India to victory whenever there was an emergency need for someone to chip in and turn things around. Then some people in this forum will bring up his performance in 2003 against Pakistan and in the final on the last CB series. Those performances are never match winning ones. When the chips are down and you have to score 7 or more runs an over - will you do it ? That is match winning. Hopefully Indian selectors soon dump him.

Sir, We can't say he is spoiling the game. But you absolutely correct that for the sake of 100 ton he is going on selected and he is not making it. Why not Dhoni 2 or 3 up instead of 6th

the vested interest of advtg co.s
by Jew Cock on Feb 22, 2012 04:49 PM  | Hide replies

also maybe the reason why bcci still plays these players..... advtg co.s spend crores on the players contracts and if the players are chucked out of the team then who will watch those ads like aviva? the biggest irony is - sachin says you have to play your main role....the one who is not playing his own role is teaching others!

Retirement?
by Venkatachalam on Feb 22, 2012 04:47 PM  | Hide replies

All the seniors have had a phenominal run in all forms of cricket and have served the country well. The country has also looked after them equally well. So why not call it a day. The seniors themselves will have to call it a day as the BCCI selectors have no guts to drop them.

As it is the seniors have denied opportunities to youngsters by continuing to play. It is time better sense prevails with the selectors to take bold decisions!

Play or Perish Rule is applicable not only for Seniors but also for Raina & Sharma likr juniors who don't improve even after giving plenty of opportunities.

Now with all these criticism - expect a Century in the next match
by Surajit Dash on Feb 22, 2012 04:46 PM  | Hide replies

Hold on.. See now with all these criticism - expect a Century in the next match and then they will be in the team for the next 20 even if they dont score. In India, personal milestomes matter more than the nation's pride.. and there are other personal aspects too.

Very True. Well said. The BCCI does not have the guts to take such a bold decision. They are good at managing money arising from income from cricket matches. What can the poor Dhoni do under such circumstances.

It is also fixing.
by James M on Feb 22, 2012 04:37 PM

Our senior players are not taking or rather more interster in Indian Cricket. They are keeping safe for themsleves to play IPL. I don't understant, that they play for India. Definetely, they don't play for India but for money and self glorification. Non of National awared to be givin to any player. As maney Indians are doing better things for India than cricketer. Publich should stop entertening to IPL type of matches.

SEHWAG ALONGWITH GAMBHIR SEEMS TO BE THE CHEIF ARCHITECT OF THIS AND MISCHIEF CREATOR, BOTH SHOULD BE SACKED SUMMARARILY AFTER THE TOUR. OF COURSE SEHWAG IS GOOD ONLY FOR FLAT INDIAN PITCHES, HE SHOULD NEVER BE CONSIDERED FOR OVERSEAS TOURS.
