For Sachin Bashers
by Ravi House on Feb 15, 2012 01:20 PM  | Hide replies

It is easy for them to argue against sachin since with the exception of few they do not have any favourite players. So whoever shines on a given day they would fix that player against sachin. It is as simple as that for which they would say team comes first as if for sachin fans team do not matter. This is pure jealous and stomach burning since they do not want to see sachin to do anything. In any team sport there are individuals who would attract people. Nothing harm in that.

dear mr ravi house ,

why sachin fans can't see beyond sachin.? why can't they appreciate great efforts by other cricketers. ?why can't they admit that SRT is past his prime?. he can not keep playing on the basis of his past performances ?

Absolutely right. I accept that he is past his prime but that even today's sachin is as good as any other youngster with few exceptions. Would you deny that? Moreover, sachin fans particularly me would always appreciate others performances. I am a big fan of dhoni and sehwag. In fact i am one of the few who are against dhoni's removal from test captaincy. Having said that when you always blog something or the other critisicing sachin why should not we come and support him? For the sake of past performances i will give you a detailed report after wc 2011.

mr ravi house ,

1.if he is past his prime as rightly admitted by you , why can't he be dropped and replaaced witha promising youngster as bhajji was rightly replaced by Ashwin. 2.when thse youngster fail we talk of dropping them , why can;t the same yardstick be applied to SRT.

3. if past performances / records are the only criteria then there are many players who need not be dropped but have been dropped. & ther lies the major problem. fans 0 whether of sachin or dhoni or xyz have to be dispassionate & pragmatic in their approach & not get carried away by their likings / dislikings.

There is absolutely no need to substitute him because we haven't found a player half as capable as he is. So don't just drop because someone is old. Drop him in case he is not performing. It doesn't matter whether he is 30-40 or 100 yrs old. Just because other players are dropped, blame it on the system and not Sachin!

Kudos to DHONI and Gautam
by nishant singh on Feb 15, 2012 11:40 AM

In the heat of the game, someone's call might go wrong and get out in the fashion Gauti got out. Let's not forget that they had been taking tight runs all throughout the run chase and that's how ODI is all about. Players at the helm have to take risk and steal runs. In the process one can get out. While commenting and reviewing, we tend to completely forget the strength of opposition. Both teams fight to bloom at the end and Sri Lankans are not lame. So we can't say that game would have finished before 50th over and all when opposition is also putting up the hard show.

Kudos to DHONI and Gautam for their whopping performance.

captain cool is gracious enough to admit that he was wrong.

he took another wrong call - by including the best batsman on earth. why he did not admit this . two options as answer :
1. his decency prevented him to admit it
or

2. he knows that shastri- gavaskar will tear him to shreds due their positive bias towards the plaster.

no wrong or right answer. readers to chose the option as per their wish.

Dhoni Culprit or hero ???????????/
by sanjeev on Feb 15, 2012 10:17 AM  | Hide replies

If you can not chase 237 in 50(49.5 instead) without getting bowled then there must be something wrong with your batting
India required 58 from last 10 with six wickets, was it too much
Dhoni is the main culprit for getting Gambhir run out and make it a difficult task

Dear Solid,

Anyway you want sachin to fail. And he is failing. This is Dhoni's good times. Enjoy every bit of it. Sachin may or may not get good times here after. But dhoni would get bad times. That time let us see how you feel and react.

i remain neutral. i do not feel bad / good coz i do not worship dhoni . in my opinion SRT is just like any other intl cricketers. only a few worshipers have made him into a G 0d. there are better cricketers in intl cricket who can be called the greatest.
