win
by Rajiv Kumar on Feb 12, 2012 07:10 PM  | Hide replies

What a win!! Full credit to Gambhir for his innings, Raina & Jadeja for the quickfire innings, last but not the least Dhoni for the last over.....
Indian bowling was also very good in the second half. Great team effort. Hope it continues.

Still not good combination for indian team
by SUMAN MUKESH on Feb 12, 2012 06:46 PM  | Hide replies

Why Sehwag is still in the team, I can't understand. Irfan and Manoj Tiwari Should be in Playing 11

Exactly. Since the openers are being rotated it is crucial to rotate the bowlers as well. The seamers all seem to do well - Praveen, Vinay and Umesh - I would always pick Umesh as the third bowler bcoz of his pace. Depending on the pitch Aswin should be rotated with Irfan, I think Dhoni sees Jadeja as the alternate for Irfan. But depending on the pitch there is no need for a specialist spinner. Today there was nothing in the pitch for spinners. Also Tiwari should be tested at least once in the middle order. And Dhoni himself should be rotated with somebody - but I guess that is impossible.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni Mst Be Our Leader and NOT Useless Ones!
by on Feb 12, 2012 06:35 PM  | Hide replies

By Today's sterling captaincy and performance Mahendra Singh Dhoni has shown why he is the Best Crciket Cpatain ever of not only indian cricket but world Cricket too. Now all jealous Dhoni critics must be running for cover since their stinking mouths and pens have been closed forever, perhaps??? By his planning and leadership Dhoni has shown why he is such a good leader and if instead of the ennuch sardr PM singh, we have Dhoni as PM, we will be super powerful within 20 years or earlier.Great performance Dhoni, 100 crore hindus are proud of you, and you are a real nation hero, Dhoni

Only if he personally thinks he has the passion for it. If not, he should take a break and get it back. No sense in overworking oneself to a point of burnout.

Dear Sir,

Everybody wants India to win. Dhoni is one of the greatest odi players. No doubt about it. At the same time do not forget gambhir's knock. Moreover, do not forget dhoni played a similar slow knock and came unbeaten at the cost of the team's loss in the first t20 match. But for dhoni's slow innings today the match would have been over 3 overs before. Just one good innings after the world cup finals and you are making him PM of india. What about Narendra Modi then? And 100 crore indians should be proud of dhoni not 100 crore hindus. Do not think religiously. Even muslims and christians who are indians would be proud of dhoni today.

Dear Ramesh,

It shows that you do not want india to win when sachin plays since you seem to be so happy when india had won without him. But we sachin fans would want india to win with or without him. In fact if india can win without him it is much easier with him in place of sehwag. Why do not you think in that way?

For argument sake since you have started what india did in england odi without sachin. Can you accept india cannot win without him then?

Rotation system
by French Cuisine on Feb 12, 2012 06:31 PM  | Hide replies

Memories of the WC final where dogged efforts from Gambhir and Dhoni won the game. I was just hoping that India will get to a competitive score and people will get back into form. Rohit is still not into groove, he is an important player in middle order and future of batting order. As weird as it may seem the rotation system seems to work. But why only rotate the openers , it is time to bring in Irfan - why is he still not in. Aswin was drowning today, replace him with Irfan. I would also like to see Tiwary get some opportunities, otherwise Dhoni will never realize the potential of his players.
