Cricket Starts and Ends with Sachin
by Ravi House on Feb 12, 2012 08:21 PM  | Hide replies

Dear Solid Singh,

I also like msd for his batting abilities in odi and leadership qualities. But you seem to support him because he is singh. Do not be like that. I support sachin though i am not a marathi man. One should learn to admire and respect the legends. You seem to fail in that.

The messages in the forum tell it all. There are only two kinds of cricket fans in our country. Pro and anti sachin. Thats it. Everybody would like our team to win with or without sachin. But sachin bashers would go to the extreme and even pray for india's loss if sachin plays in that match. That is only the sign of frustration forgetting even the team.

Mr Ravi Hose , your comment only qualify what has alraedy been stated - that u have lost ur m e n t @ l balance.

I am admirer of his cricketing skills. but i don't rate him the graetest. he is as good or as bad as any oother intl cricketers like ponting , waugh , mahela , misbah ,sanga , peiterson , smith , kallis etc. i am against beleieving that he is G 0 D of cricket - which you people have made him into.

Greatest player is the one who has the ability to turn the match on its head- especially in crunch situations.

Hi but what is Sachins fault, when he is on a roll matches do not go into crucnch situation... matches are already hugely in favor of India. Is it Sacins fault that his hundreds or fifties in past have widely helped india avoid crunch situations ?

Then how many times the players you mention have turned the games head on. i do not remember kallis won a odi for sa with his batting. the problem with you people is you would compare any player who suddenly plays a great knock with sachin and raises question whether sachin had played a knock like that or not. Winning few matches head is not important. contributing consistently over period of time is more important. that is the hall mark of great player. playing over periods, eras, decades that longevity matters. that is why sachin is great. most of the players you mention are not upto that mark.

Dear All Sachin Bashers,

For that matter day would come for everybody in this world. Iam not saying sachin will be playing for ever. Iam just asking why you people are so anti sachin. And more than that whatever the topic under cricket you are dragging his name which shows there are only two kinds of fans pro and anti sachin which means nobody is interested beyond him. That itself shows he is the greatest. There is a proverb only riped tree will get more hits on it. Sachin is like that.

this article is very much about sachin - the plaster which you p 1 g head can never understand. each & every word written in the article means that india can win only if plaster sits out. you include him in the next game at the cost of gambhir / sehwag / rohit / raina/ kohli & India will surely lose.

lets not talk about history. history also says that sehwag destroyed many bowlers on his day. sachin also has stats to prove that he performed. the question is how has he contributed to victories. a couple of innings here or there are just a chance & not as per the stature of a so called G 0 D of cricket

what do you expect from him. play from the first ball to the last. then only would you accept. his stature is because of his longevity in the game with consistent performance. even in the wc he is the best in our team. but you people talk only the matches when he fails. you are talking about reality but forgets that one cannot alone win matches for a team. do you mean to say dhoni alone had won it today for india. if you say like that then i cannot argue with you.

Dear Mr.Solid,

You are so liquid in your thoughts. Going by your views i would suggest you the following.

Those who had not played in today's match should not be included and those who had played in today's match should only be playing in all the rest of the matches. Would you accept for that? Why are you so anti sachin? If sachin's absence had won for india then what happened in england odi series in which he did not play. Moreover, sachin only had won it for india last time in australia. Then what you would say about it.

About gambhir coming good in wc finals, one cannot play the finals directly. You anti sachin walas only would discount sachin's contribution in the wc. If only who played well in the finals alone are greats then laras, sehwags, yuvrajs, bothams, gavaskars should not be included in that bracket.

gambhir was always in good touch ( like sachin fabns also say ). the only issue was he was not able to convert those 30s / 40s into big scores. on the same grounds , last time in 2008 he scored heavily & faced lee when he was at his peak. only tendya fans were after him. that too when he played the innings of his life in WC final , whereas the plaster came a cropper.
