considering the amt of money BCCI makes...its less than peanuts....this is the reason why IPL is attractive to players becoz within 1.5 months, they make minimum of thrice the money the topmost player of indian cricket team annually makes

True, evry crikiter (senior or junior levl) therefore wants to play IPL bcoz its money minting business.. who is interested in playing ranji's or test matches these days... Sach tendulkar is also not retiring for the same reason

BS article

What an article and logic by hamaracongressdotcom!! Players are not cheated as the writer claims. They earn a lot by ads, IPL, etc.

I dont know if he understands, it is not the players, but the public that BCCI is taking for a ride.
BCCI makes so much money but it does not seem to do anything abt the facilities in the stadia. Bathroomsstink, crrraaapppyy rules, sub-standard foodfacilities etc. Of course, BCCI's pockets will be filled at the expense of the viewers.

Correct me if i am wrong, but as far as my knowledge is concerned BCCI grades the players representing India into A/B/C (24 in all). So, i feel the writer is speaking abt them.

WHAT A BOGUS PROPOSAL
by debasish datta on Feb 10, 2012 08:36 PM  | Hide replies

ANY ONE READ THE ABOVE STORY MAY GET THE ILLUSION THAT THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE INDIAN CRICKETER SERIOUS ABOUT TEST (OR ANY FORM OF INTERNATIONAL CRICKET)CRICKET IS TO INCREASE THEIR PAY MADE TO THEM BY BCCI. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH.LOOK AT THE AUSTRALIAN OR SOUTH AFRICAN CRICKETERS. THEY DONT GET THE HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY FROM THEIR BOARD THAT INDIAN CRICKETERS GET FROM BCCI. SOUTH AFRICAN AND AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS ARE ALSO AUCTIONED IN IPL. DOES THEIR CRICKET DECLINED FOR THAT? THEY ARE GOOD AND SKILLFUL BOWLERS,BATSMEN AND FIELDER. ICC RATING FOR THE CRICKETERS IS THE PROF OF THEIR EXCELLENCE. THEN ? THE PROBLEM IS THAT BCCI IS PAYING MUCH MORE THAN WHAT THE SO CALLED INDIAN CRICKET CREAM DESERVE AND THE IPL IS DRAINING THE ALREADY ROTTEN MATERIALS. THE IMMEDIATE SOLUTION FOR THIS PROBLEM IS TO REDUCE THE PAY FOR ALL THE PLAYERS OF INDIA BY HALF AND TOTALLY STOP THE PAYMENT MADE BY IPL TO THE PLAYERS WHO ARE PLAYING IN INDIAN NATIONAL TEAM. THE REAL REASON OF THE DECLINATION OF THE PERFORMANCE OF THE INDIAN CRICKETERS IS THEIR LOYALTY TOWARDS THEIR NATION INDIA. I DON'T THINK ALL THE PLAYERS CURRENTLY PLAYING FOR INDIA IS TOTALLY DEVOTED TO INDIA, AT LEAST IT DOES NOT SEEM FROM THEIR BODY LANGUAGE.

The ill for all the mess in this country is to be squarely blamed on the Cricketing Body BCCI due to the not so intresting schedules, no rest, and fatigue. You can see in the body language of the team which is telling throw me out for a few months. Let me take rest. You are right about the Australian and South African teams, in the analysis that they are good at any time on the ground. the rotation policy is good. Our reserve strength is as good as lambs in tiger reserve forest. HAlf of them are not technically competent, nor sure what the ball is doing. Not mentally tough. Virat is smart and tough, because he has seen success at the highest level in all forms of cricket.
None are there like Kumble or Saurav. They were tough mentally. They were ready to fight fire with fire, and intelligent. Money is earned during the working years not during retirement years. DHoni has hardly rested. No cel;ebrations after a world cup, what sort of hungry people are in the BCCI. they should have a sent a second string to WI, ENgland, and sent the first team only now to Australia. Australia also looked tired and not so fired during the last srilanka series and the Ashes. Their policies are showing fruit.. only now. Overdependence on Sachin, Dravid, laxman was a recipe for failure at some time, and it happened.. So lets blame BCCI squarely for the debacle. Lets treat our heroes more respectfully, and shower the praises. Negativity breads Negativity...

rajiv shukla was the deadliest bowler, even viv richard use to shiver in pant seeing great rajiv shukla bowling to him. i salute u rajiv shukla.

i don't understand why ICC didn't inducted him in hall of fame. and if they don't include him in hall of fame i will go on fast.

BCCI is so rich that they can sponsor / manage all sports federations - will never do that is a different matter.

Let BCCI spend the money on improving the 'cattle class' facilities in the stadiums. The less we say about the facilities, the better.

These reports are so distorted that it is not even worth commenting on. We, as a country, don't have sporting excellence in our blood sadly; and those that have are made to suffer with no support, apart from the 'under performing' cricket team.

Cricketers or crorepatis?
by KrishnaKumar Subramanian on Feb 10, 2012 06:47 PM  | Hide replies

With due respect to this author for his column and his research.. Indian cricketers are the most paid amongst the world. It is baseless to argue that cricketers are paid peanuts by BCCI. Keep in mind that Hockey national players were travelling by Train till a few years back and were paid only few thousand rupees.Cricket game is bigger than the cricketers, hence BCCI which is promoting the game is wealthier and richer. There is no need for the cricketers to be paid any more. Pleae stop researching on such absurd percentage comparisons when the entire nation is questioning on why a particular sport is being sponsored so heavily. Im a die-hard cricketing fan myself and have followed the sport for the past 30 years but I question myself on why Hockey or Atheletic professionals are not being recognized. Please stop spreading wrong signals that bring pity to cricketers ..they are being hero worshipped for nothing.

You know how much the BCCI earns through Indian players. Comparing that with what players earn, they earn peanuts!!!

Here we are - reading about how much money should be given to the cricketers. No one seems to be bothered in improving the overall cricketing skills of the players. Our batsmen cannot handle the moving/bouncing/fast ball; our "fast" bowlers are a joke; our spinners are pampered on tailor made pitches; our fielding is pathetic....Nothing is being spoken or done about these aspects. How difficult is it to gather all talented players and conduct highly specialized training camps for batting, bowling & fielding? Not too difficult considering the resources available with the board but no - we will not do it or even talk about it. We continue to obsess about the amount of money cricketers make...It is the Indian cricket fans who are being taken for a ride...
