The best ever comment is by EAS Prasanna whose observations are unbiased and to the point.Though we had been telling Sachin should retire, the moment he announced that we feel blank!! That's sachin

The Best Innings I saw of Sachin Tendulkar
by himamshu on Dec 24, 2012 04:52 PM  | Hide replies

Were all in the 1998 season. He was in Top form against Australia in Test and ODI series.

My Sachin's Best Innings however was in 1998 Bangladesh Independence Cup when he hit 95 and 41 vs Pakistan in the league and finals.

More appropriated would be "prolonged" not realistic
by Ashsish on Dec 24, 2012 04:36 PM  | Hide replies

He was great, no one can be compared etc .. its all history now, realistically Sachins dependency has been reduced a decade back but he raised so well in all worldcups with innovative shots. He has been doing well all these days but lost shine after world cup it could be any reason. Its too ambishoius to expect 39yr to do well like early 20's player but then he has make his plan and move on. India has less options to replace the former greats however its time BCCI should go with a practical plan.

How can u say Sachins dependency has been reduced . This year he is in poor form and India lost 8-0 in away and 2-1 in home that equaly means India's win is very much dependent on the Sachin

He was not doing well in 2003-04 tour of Australia and even then Team India managed to do well and square the test series. So his failures didn't matter to Team India's fortunes then. It's another matter that we had a good captain in Sourav Ganguly leading the team then.

A great batsman with poor sense for timing
by pradeep agarwal on Dec 24, 2012 04:29 PM

Sachin remains the best batsman that India has produced. He however failed to understand he reality of time that spares none & had to retire in a manner not befitting to some one of his stature.I wish he had quit after WC win from all form of game.A series against Australia will be further humiliation for him & his fans that should be avoided by counseling him to quit before that.
