Re: Re: SACHIN as Captain

I am saying this bcas he has work ethics and players will surely respect him.Non pun intended.
Being a dhoni fan... still i feel srikkanth is right.. dhoni should be an integral part of test team( no one better than him as wicket keeper batsman- saha, kartik, parthiv all have failed) . he should concentrate on his batting in test team. also as a senior player he will always be their to advice the new young captain.. also no point in going back and getting gambhir and sewag as captain.. should follow SA and AUS in appointing a young captain like kohli...

What focussing? Outside India, say in Aus, Eng, SA, even WI we have seen how he has batted! Players like Saha and Karthik have performed well in domestic cricket adequate enough to give them the chance. Dinesh Karthik batted well even as a stop gap opener, but replacing him with Dhoni at that time was logical. Same way it is logical to replace Dhoni now.

i agree but kartik is 34 yrs old .. do u see future in him. dhoni is still 31 and have 3-4 yrs left in him... dont just see on his current form ( in that almost all indian batsman failed).

Domestic cricket is not the same class as Test matches, but performances can not be ignored.

The fact is he never failed to fail in overseas conditions, unlike other senior cricketers who performed everywhere except the last series!

Batsmen will say we are only as good as Captain, bowlers will say we are only as good as batsmen,...

Not exactly! Extra-ordinary talents need some concession when it comes to bad patch. Except Bradman almost all batsmen had bad patches. Great men will come out of that. Let Sachin have another couple of series max. If he bats like he did in 2010, retain him. Else ask him to retire or get back into team by strong performances in domestic cricket. Even Aus allowed Ponting 25 Tests (with ave 33) to decide his retirement. Sachin's contribution in 21 of 23 years is outstanding. So one should understand the difference between Sachin and others.
There is no point in continuing like this. It will only add to their negative publicity. A captain must be the first to claim responsibility for failure. If Dhoni as captain is not responsible for the losses then he is not responsible for the wins also like the world cup wins it is also because of team. He has very minor role to play in those wins. You can't have it both ways, claiming credit for victories and blaming others for losses.
Why is Srikkanth asking Tendulkar to retire? No guts? Why did he not discipline players like Sehwag and Gambhir who played politics and continue to play politics and in the process ensuring defeat for team India?
When umpires played for brits, what can dhoni&others do,folks???In fact dharmasena, tucker, aleem dar and hill played for brits and prevented the white-wash after the ahmedabada test folks, if players can make money, why not umpires too???above umpires deserve to be declared best players of thi series, right folks@?
