Why not Ban USELESS AND BORING test cricket. forever, folks???
by Saaani Mrichie on Dec 16, 2012 07:09 PM

How much have Trott and brits paid for Dharmasena to save the match for the brits??? Dhramasena saved Troot twice from ebing out once by caught behind by Dhoni and another time being LBW to Jadeja! what a shame that cricket fans are being fooled by paid and bribed umpires who are fixing matches for a price,of course1 icc must review all decdisions of umpires and MUST ban umpires or deny them their fees for making bad decisions1 what a shame1 aleem dar 7tony hill fixed the mumbai test for brits and now dharmasena doing same fixing job1 what a shame1

DB you know all the figures and where to get it. so why are you asking me...just like you know other players match winning performances you can find dhoni's too...after all there are 29 tests so far where he has been part of indian test wins...is it so difficult to get those 29 tests' scorecards?...

check which captain of india scored 92 and 68 not out against ponting's aussies and got Man of the Match award...

clue: he is also our wicket keeper...

Bottomline
by Bhasmasur on Dec 16, 2012 09:12 AM  | Hide replies

India threw away the advantage. India was at 4/269 and ended up with 290 odd with only the tailenders remaining.

I am just disappointed at Dhoni's rush of blood and geting run out. I watched the first two session and Dhoni was so careful and even holding Kohli back from attempting even a slightest of risky run.

And he lost the plot. I wonder how India will even get a lead that Kohli is talking about..

I think this is Advantage England now..

Why blame Dhoni or other indian players, dude???WHEN UMPIRES ARE PLAYING FOR YOU YOU CAN BEAT ANY SIDE in the world, right??? how much dhrmasena and tucker have taken from trott and brits is the big question now!dhramasena saved trott twice when he was out twice, but gave not out!in mumbai test paki aleem dar and tony hill played for brits and won the match for the brits!shame BCCI has not put pressure on icc to punish or ban umpires making wrong decisions so far! if dharmasena had not played for brits,India would have won the Test already! what a shame!

what dhoni can do when a all specialist batsman get out early and put pressure on lower order yet dhoni remained on crease for whole day.
so i can say dhoni is a responsible captain.

Dhoni's great captaincy is just a myth
by Deshbhakth Hindu on Dec 15, 2012 11:19 PM  | Hide replies

He was lucky to get a good set team of great players in their prime. You can see the averages of Gambhir, Sehwag, Dravid, VVS, SRT, Bhajji, Zaheer when India was No. 1 and compare with the averages of Dhoni himself in those same matches.

very well said, absolutely correct. Dhoni’s average was same as that of gambhir laxman etc.

when india were no. 1 it was dhoni who played very well and had a good average like all the rest...thank you for coming out in dhoni's defence deshbhakth hindu. you are a real deshbhakth...

dhoni’s performance as a batsman since he became captain till we were no. 1 in tests…
30 tests 45 innings 5 not out 1800 runs 45 average 100s-3 50s-14
thanks for the stats deshbhakth hindu

DB, very conveniently u have given only other players stats and not given dhoni's stats and acting as if you dont know it, making as though he has failed...when in reality if you have stats of others u know also dhoni's stats and that they are good but you are cleverly hiding and acting as if dhoni has failed... there are plenty of test match winning he has played but you have long term memory loss about that...

so let me refresh your memory...as a captain till we were no. 1 test team his stats were-

30 tests 45 innings 5 notout 1800 runs average 45 100s-3 50s-14...they are as good as others ...similar to gambhir and laxman...so you see he has done as well as others but you want that he score like all 5's stats together only then will you be satisfied...he has scored the following in won tests-
29 tests 41 innings 1641 runs average 48.something 100s-4 50s-14....you need more info? or are you going to stop the act?

do you know which indian captain made 92 and 68 not out against ponting's aus team and won Man of the Match award?

very well said, M Dhoni

like u said india lost no. 1 status because of gambhir, sehwag, srt, dravid laxman...there stats and their failures are there for everybody to see....therefore they are responsible that we lost the no. status in tests and are now languishing at the bottom..like u rightly said it is not dhoni but the performances or rather failures of gambhir, sehwag, srt, dravid laxman in the last 2 yrs. that is responsible for our bad situation in tests...

very good post M Dhoni...

WHAT?
It was Dravid who was fighting alonr for his country in England.

What a pity that you're throwing the entire team under the bus to protect the incompetence of Dhoni.

India was number one because of those esniors and the team that Ganguly, Kumble and then Dravid built. And Dhoni had his chance but he ruined it..

whether dhoni's days as a captain are numbered or not is a different issue...whether he remains as a captain or not you cannot deny that it was the failures of our specialist batsmen overseas in sa eng and aus that is that of sehwag gambhir sachin dravid and laxman that were responsible for our losing the no. 1 status...if you want to pin that blame on dhoni and make him the scapegoat what can i do?

if you want to run away from the reality that our 5 specialist batsmen have failed horribly away and at home for 2 yrs. straight and if you want to clear them of the blame of our not being no. 1 anymore there is nothing else that i can do and say...

go get a life deshbhakth hindu and close your eyes to the performances of our 5 specialist batsmen in the past 2 yrs at home and abroad...

besides let me point it out to you that the indian team was not built by ganguly, kumble and dravid...it was built up by our first really successful captain azhar...it was the team that he built up of sachin, dravid, laxman, kumble, b bhajji, ganguly himself etc. that was responsible for indian successes under him...after him it was ganguly who got the ready-made team that azhar had built gifted to him on a platter from which he began his success story himself contributing nothing or very little.

it was dhoni who after kumble dravid brought in stability to the indian team and which would have crumbled if a able person like him was not their at the helm. it was he who without the help of seniors won the T20 cup held abroad in SA...it was he again who won the Cb triangular series in against in Aus when they were no. 1 and at full strength...it was again done without seniors or very seniors and mostly these people either failed or did not play...(i am referring to sachin and sehwag who either failed or played very very few times when the target and conditions were easy) it was all due to new generation players that dhoni achieved it....same with wc...even in tests he did it without kumble who played ZERO (0!) tests under dhoni...

it was under him that pujara, kohli, ojha, ashwin, praveen and others played and gained confidence....dhoni has built a very good team of new generation players...

but instead of applauding him for his good efforts many people are bashing him...

I wholeheartedly appreciated Dhonu when he was a Wicket Keeper Batsman and scored 183 vs Sri Lanka and of course when he Won India the World Cup in 2011.

But since then he has somehow gone into a non performing mode especially after he bagged a Huge advertisement deal overtaking Sachin.

Since then he has become arrogant especially after becoming CSK captain and winning IPL twice.
