Sachin not the greatest
by Forrest Gump on Dec 10, 2012 08:51 AM  | Hide replies

Coz he is just another great batsman ! Cricketers like ponting, waugh bros, lara, hayden (nd so many ) either performed or got retired before anyone could criticise them! They were never burden on team! Hats off to the real heroes of the game! Not like our fake heroes who r burden, shame on team! I WONDER IF ANYONE CAN REPLACE SIR DON BRADMAN !

Sachin should be lauded for the time that he has been around. However, his averages are nothing out of the extraordinary or even ordinary. All plyaers who have been able to hang on for so long must have these kind ov averages. To compare Sachin with Don bradman is sacrilege.

sunny gavaskar is commenting about the attitude of players. but he forgets that attitude - of taking things for granted has been propagated by his dearest. score a 50 once in 20 innings & stay put. Nobody can sack you.

Except some ball less slaves BL everyone is thinking of kicking out this selfish player who's only good for making personal milestones. He's never indispensable before ant now toatlly unwanted. It's his greed for money which is making him to stick to team despite becoming big burden to team.

Chopping and changing

SG's statements defy logic and he doesn't commit on whom he wants dropped. Surely it can't be the younger players who need more chances ? The selectors have only dropped those who are "over the hill" and that includes Yuvi and Bhajji also.
Even if it takes 5 -8 years to rebuild, those over the hill must be told to move on.

Hey Gavaskar, you have adamantly dropped Kapil for one atrocious shot in which test India lost despite poor allround performance including you as captain.
You have dropped TE Srinivasan who is better player than you since he joked you.
Now how much money you got from Dhobi to support him ?
Why you are not naming SRT,Yuvi,Kohli,Gambhir ?
If the entire team is not Good why not change the entire team who can do better without complacence except Ashwin,Ojha & Pujara ?

Sir, you are talking as if Gavaskar and others are gods. They are human beings. Yes there was an ego clash between Kapil and Sunny. But now they do not miss an opportunity to praise each other.
Even gentleman Dravid could not stand up against Greg Chappell for his team.
Everybody makes mistakes.
Kapil involvement in betting towards the end of his career is a black mark.
But yes Sunny should have named the players who he wants dropped.

Gavaskar is shrewd. He is diverting media's attention toward the bowlers and selection committee.

Idea is to keep all the eyeballs away from SRT.

Gavaskar should be made the Indian team coach. He may be cunning but then it is better than being losers under fletcher.
I remember a ranji trophy match between Karnataka and MUMBAI when Raghuram Bhat, the karnataka spinner was practically unplayable.
Sunny started batting left handed to face him. The umpires were left scratching their heads as they did not know if it was legal or not !!! :)

kapil dev was dropped by Bedi. Not Gavaskar. Bedi himself accepted this many years later. And in that match at Delhi Gavaskar scored half century and nobody else scored.

Gavaskar is just doing BLAH BLAH here. He gets paid by these TV channels for the interview and his participations in a talk show..

This is the same Gavaskar who was heavily criticizing Bhajji over the last two years for his poor performanceS..

Those who all are commenting against Gavaskar are probably new to cricket. Gavaskar has great cricket acumen no nonsense person. He's the one who raised doubts about Sachin's slow reflexes. Many times in past also he's pointed out attitude of shamless players but these arrogants are adamant to change.

Neeraj,
then how come he is asying all these after math? He has never made constructive commen publicly ahead of time.

Per you he raised doubt on Sachin, then why is he defending Sachin here? The doubt that he raised clearly stats that Sachin is way past his due date and he must go..

Fletcher useless...
by Ravi on Dec 10, 2012 05:53 AM  | Hide replies

Dont see any improvement in the team in the last 3 Test series.

T20 is seriously ruining our teams cricket technique. Forget drawing the match, these guys can't even stand at the crease for more than 40 minutes these days.

Time to take drastic action.

Why blame T20 for ruining their technique? Other countries also play T20 and players in Australia and SA hasve said T20 and ODIs have helped them become better stroke makers.

Blame on the lazy attitude and lack of commitment. Look at our spearhead Zaheerkhan with tummy sticking out. Look at Gambhir, who refused to correct his poor techniques. Evey after two witewash and two lost at home against England, Sehwag makes statement like it's not a big deal atall..

Why blame T20 for all that?

Sorry, I cant say T20 is ruining. Look at Kallis, he is playing all the three versions of rhe game with the same fluency. Our players are all self professed heroes who are actually zero.
