BCCI HAS DONE A GOOD DEAL GIVING CASH OUT TO SENIORS ? BUT WAS SO MUCH CASH NEEDED TO BE GIVEN.??
NO TALENT IN A COUNTRY WITH OVER A BILLION PEOPLE ? NOT THAT WE ARE ENGAGED IN ANY OTHER SPORT, WE ARE NOT EVEN A SIGN AT THE OLYMPICS.
NOW IOA HAS BEEN BANNED TOO FOR SOMETHING WE EXCEL AT CORRUPTION . THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS MR KALMADI AND THE INTERNATIONAL SHAME OF THE GAMES.

NO BOWLERS IN THE DOMESTIC CIRCUIT ALSO , THERE ARE SO MANY GOOD BOWLERS ON THE STREETS ,SPENT MONEY TO GET TALENT UP AND GIVE THEM PITCHES TO GET WICKETS NOT DEAD PITCHES WHERE DEMI GODS LIKE SHEWAG AND TEND SCORE HUNDREDS AND GLAMOROUS YUVIS, RAINA AND DHONI HITS 6S. WHEN IS THE LAST TIME DHONI GOT A GOOD RUN WITH THE BAT ?

WE ARE CARRYING ON WITH A CAPTAIN WHO DOES NOTHING JUST BASIC KEEPING. BATSMEN WHO ARE THERE ON PAST LAURELS , TENDULKR ,VIRU,DHONI,YUVI,GAMBHIR AND THERE WAS TALK OF THIS TEAM TAKING REVENGE AFTER GETTING HUMILIATED IN AUSTRALIA AND ENGLAND . DONT CHOP AND CHANGE LET THEM KEEP PLAYING.
WHAT A JOKE , BCCI HAVE 2 IPLS SO THAT THE MASSES CAN GLORIFY THIS TEAM

Test Cricket
by peelid d on Dec 09, 2012 12:17 AM  | Hide replies

I think its time for India to Quit playing test cricket and focus on T20 (the future of cricket). It is waste of our time and energy to groom test players. I am sure most cricket playing nations will follow this steps. Oldies like Australia, England can have the Ashes series.

My team for 4th test
by Ajeet Singh on Dec 08, 2012 11:57 PM

01. Virender Sehwag - he can take the game away from opposition.
02. Gautam Gambhir - an apt partner to open the innings.
03. Cheteshwar Pujara - a good find who is doing reasonably well.
04. Virat Kohli - dangerous batsman
05. M. S. Dhoni - because he is captain & wicket keeper
06. Harbhajan Singh - replacement for Yuvraj. he can bowl and definitely score more runs then Yuvraj who has struggled so far.
07. Ashwin - even though has has been pretty ordinary with ball but has played well as a batsman.
08. Pragyan Ojha - doing well
09. Ashok Dinda - Zaheer has been unsuccessful, so why not try someone else.
10. Ishant Sharma - getting back into the rhythm
11. Murli Vijay - must get a chance to play

Team not fit for Tests
by Jay on Dec 08, 2012 11:10 PM  | Hide replies

Bowling and batting look pathetic! The first change required is we need a Captain, who is having right attitude to play Tests. Dhoni is a misfit as a batsman, as wicket keeper and as captain. Replace him with Dinesh Karthik or Wriddhiman Saha as wicket keeper for a few series. Don't give Vice Captaincy to Kohli so early in any format of the game. Let him get established in Tests.

As pacers, we have none having the right attitude other than Umesh Yadav in the team. But he is also out due to injury now.

Try replacing Yuvraj with Jadeja, Zaheer with Irfan as both have been seen unfit.

Eventually they have to bring in capable all-rounders Ashwin, Jadeja and Irfan and develop them in both batting and bowling equally. They need special focus in bowling, as they are as good as any regular batsman available now.

Ashwin is not a capable allrounder... he is a tail-ender who is just in his prime batting form... now do not tell us he is going to be the next dharmasena or chris harris or robin singh etc. he is not even in the league..his primary role is of a bowler and his average this series is above 60... so please stop blabbering about his ability

No, Ashwin has even opened batting in domestic cricket and has scored 3 centuries in First Class cricket. Batting wise even in Aus he played well to score a fifty. Bowling is also very good in ODIs and T20, but not yet there in Tests. But he is certainly better off-spinner than others in India at the moment. He has to learn to take wickets at Test level, but he has the skill.

He raced to 50 wickets to create a record for India in Tests, but still the recent performances show he has to learn to do better.

there were many spinners before who come with quaint styles and take wickets in a burst in their first few matches... does not prove he has the skills of a good off spinner for an international level Test match.... if he has opened batting in domestic matches then he should be at-least batting at 3 or 4...like shane watson... he is selected to serve as a bowler, if he does not perform our already weak bowling is weakened further... in the case of batting he is not required or if he does not perform he is not going to be asked questions as to why he did not perform with the bat... a true performer plays under pressure and beats it with skill...with batting he does not have anything at stake.. will he blamed for our dismal batting performance? never... for bowling ..yes..

You have a clear bias. That is why you do not see the merit in his batting and say he is a tail ender. You may not believe, his career batting ave in Tests as of now is more than that of Kohli in their Tests so far. So overall his batting and bowling performance is not to be written off. Bowling was good in patches, and he is not yet there as a spearhead.

yes I do have a bias.. I do not see the fire and determination of Kumble ... or the class of even Rajesh Chauhan... but you did not answer my question about his batting... is he getting picked for batting? is it okay if he does not bowl a single over and bats with tail enders to make his case look good to the selectors and an obviously erudite Indian cricket fan hoping against hope that he is going to be the next Kumble? Even Kumble used to score 70/80 when the situation was dire, saving matches...even overseas... but he never seemed at a loss or less hardworking on his primary duty...which was bowling... In fact your thinking that there is going to be a special occasion where he would be crowned the spearhead shows a clear bias... he has to deliver when the team most needs him...that makes a spearhead...

Your knowledge in cricket is junk,
We kumble got dropped for his bad performance in early 1990,so aswin is 11 tests, hope he will improve as bowler.
But main reason for the loss is our culprit top order batsman( politics) ,G S T K Y(not full fit) and Our D so think the diff between indian and England. if our any of two top order batsman put good runs we r 500 scores in 2 innings then bowlers will have less pressure. The kumble 70/80 all came at his almost 15 yrs int cricket retiring
time only.

The point is Kumble became spearhead only much later. In case you track him from 1990 you can see when he really became a good quality Test bowler. One should not compare him with anyone yet. But his all round achievements in 10-11 Tests he has played so far are comparable with the best. So don't turn blind eye on that. Rajesh Chouhan is not even a bowler of Test calibre. All class is wrong impression, I can guarantee that as I have seen him from close!

by Sadhashiv on Dec 08, 2012 10:57 PM  | Hide replies

a country that boasts of 1 billion plus population, alongwith the richest cricket board can't find 11 good players to play this game.

Imagine what if SA, Eng or Aus had this luxury ???

This proves that stamina, fitness, talent and enthusiasm cannot be purchased with money. its something u need to have in ur genes, which Indians lack......

BTW, how India won the WC in 2011 without any bowlers is still a mystery........ that would always remain unsolved....

so it directly boils down to genes and not 1000 other factors that Aus,SA or present Eng squads/board build brick upon brick with meticulous planning and pure hard work? it always is the genes...what a loser! what about the Indian teams that have done good before this? Is there a gene grafting, implanting and manipulation lab that those teams were manufactured from? people like you should not even be watching sports, because you do not understand a fundamental premise in sports... one team wins and another loses.... if the losing team keeps repeating its mistakes it keeps on losing... common sense is not common, but genetic engineers are abundant

Wake Up Call !
Otherwise also with all these Rathi & Maharathi players we are losing test matches after test matches,so why not form a new young team with some expn & non expn players. What will happen the chances are we may lose- fine but what happens if the youngsters turn the tables. Now what we require is a krantikari action in our team selection by BCCI &our selectors.Forget Sachin,Dhoni,Yuvraj,Sehwag,Zaheer,Bhajji,Gauti -give them rest & let them enjoy the money they hv earned in IPL & brand promotions of various products. Its a wake up call ! !

KetchaniRajan Makesh
team selection
by KetchaniRajan Makesh on Dec 08, 2012 10:40 PM

Current situation a result of paranoid team selections done for last few years. It is clear for long that Yuvraj & Raina are not test material. But Yuvraj walked straight into the team after couple of innings =those who slogged in Ranji trophy and warming the bench could only resent.
Bowling - is a story from Gary Kirsten's period. It now seems that we were plain lucky to be winning at home with toothless bowling. The only way to get a good bowler now is by Pure Luck. Even he would be spoilt because there is no backup, he would be made to relent in IPL & meaningless matches.
And for godsake change the coach - he is not able get the team up. Captain - we have no choice Dhoni camp has ensured that there is no decent option.
Finally, ppl show some respect to domestic performances every time badri name is brought out -ppl cry csk. Only then we will get good players.
But some players like Rohit always are backed - Talented.

One point for selectors - forget names now only select teams on FORM. Blood players when they are in their POMP. Don't waste players like Rahane keeping them in bench.
