Dhoni wanted spin tracks for all the matches and even went on to antagonise the curator at Eden Gardens. Like homing pigeons, this boomeranged on him. Instead of Indian spinners, the English spinners took greater advantage of the turning tracks and performed well. Panesar and Swan are miles ahead of Indian spinners. Even Bhajji failed. The pace attack was toothless as Zaheer and Ishant failed miserably. Anderson who learnt the art of swing bowling from Zaheer, outdid his master and cause havoc to the Indian team. What Dhoni failed to understand is that the turning or non-track as they appear in the cricketing world, our bowlers should be trained to perform in any track and under any conditions. He wanted to bundle out the English within three days and in return he himself was bundled out in three days, thanks to Ashwin who stretched to fifth day saving the Indians from the impending innings defeat. India is one wicket away from the shame but then it is a sport and one must learn from the mistake. Some win and some loose but the one who is strong would emerge victorious in the next hustings. India no doubt outplayed in all departments. Indian fielding, catching and batting much to be desired allowing English to dominate in India. Its a real disgrace that Indian circket did not come good despite its standing in the world cricket. Indians should take a leaf out of Cook's batting book and apply themselves in the next test atleast.A win at Nagpur would put them back in the saddle.
Tendulkar played cricket for 23 years and achieved many a milestone. Now he is ageing and at nearly 40, one cannot expect him to perform as he did in the past. It is clearly visible in his recent show in all the three test matches so far played. His reflexes are slow and many a time he was bowled. Its pathetic that the batsman himself didn't realise his flaws in the batting and continue to cling on to his place thus preventing a chance to the youngster. He has become so tall in the team, even the Selectors are afraid to talk to him. Many past cricketers have suggested to him to retire and the best time for him was when India won the world cup. But he let go the opportunity as he was keen to score his 100th hundred. Having achieved that milestone, he should have called it a day. He did not do so. His records are such that no one in the world has the calibre to surpass. Anyone who was near his record was Ricky Ponting but he too hung his boots. His condition was similar to Tendulkar. In his last test appearance, he failed in both the innings against SA. Its time for Tendulkar to go honourably before the selectors drop him because of public demand. Even the cricket lovers are willing to see the back of non-performing Tendulkar. May be commercial compulsions are holding him back. He has earned enough and his retirement would not affect his personality or standing in the sport or media world. He should realise that he cannot go on for ever and its good for him to hang his boots.

He should be kicked out. He has done immense harm to Indian cricket. We are paying for his personal milestones.
The present Indian team lack cohesiveness. Its a divided house. There are two camps within the team, one led by Shewag and the other led by Dhoni. The poor show by the top batsmen in both the tests at Mumbai and Kolkatta is much to be desired. Except Ashwin, no other batsman has applied himself. Complacency seems to have crept in the team and because the Selectors are averse to changes, everybody had taken his place for granted in the team. The Selectors should now send a strong signal, perform or perish. Better players are waiting outside and they must be groomed for future. How long we can cling on to the likes of Tendulkar, Shewag, Ghambir, Dhoni and Zaheer. Show them the door and bring in new players. Even if they do not perform, they are sure to gain some experience and excel in future. If the same team is retained for Nagpur test and the result is the same, then the selectors have to bow their head in shame as they were not willing to take any risk for future. In any event, the selectors too should go and a new set is replaced to give a new direction to the team. The oldies in the field are lethargic, dropping a few catches.Ishant was not match fit and Zaheer is a shadow of his past. He lost his rythem and pace as well. There is no sting in his reverse swing. Anderson was superb and so also the English spinners. Indian spinners did not learn any lesson from them. Cook showed the way how to play the spin but our batsmen did not want to stay at the crease the way English.

Dhoni is no way near to Dada, whether as a captain or batsman or even a bowler. Its his luck the world cup was played in India or else God knows!
stop over reacting. England and Australia have lost their previous test series. And in this series England were lucky to have batted when the pitch supported bowling in the second and third test. India will come back strongly in the fourth test and who knows in the Kolkata test also?
