Whatever happened, it happened for good. Whatever is happening is happening for good. Whatever that will happen, it will be for good. What have you lost for which you cry? What did you bring with you, which you have lost? What did you produce, which has destroyed? You did not bring anything when you were born. Whatever you have, you have received from Him. Whatever you will give, you will give to Him. You came empty handed and you will go the same way. Whatever is yours today, Was somebody else’s yesterday, And will be somebody else’s tomorrow. Change is the law of the universe
Thanks for the entertaining us punter.u will be remembered as fierce batsman & a ruthless captain who led mighty oz from the front........best of luck...............
Our Player like dravid,Ganguly, laxman should get such send off on ground rather then off ground in press meet.BCCI should give good farewell to all player who contributed good for indian for years

Pointing would have easily broken all records.. he missed only because they use to win most of the test matches by a innings or by 8 wickets or like that.. Pointing use to hardly get to bat in 2nd innings compared to Sachin..

Yes he has played for INDIA we should be thankful to him for his wonderful contribution to INDIA....
Guys Indians are very emotional and make huge hue and cry on one success or one failures, lot of things was wrote when kanitkar hit one four to win or viod kambli hit two double century, same people criticised once they failed - and now ONE CENTURY FROM SACHIN IN KOLKATTA and everything will vanish and people will talk of his commitment and skill even at this age - do understand this is just a form loss and his class still remains, he is still very committed, fit and more so enjoys his cricket (anyone else who has the kind of money and fame he has will not struggle at nets for so many hours unless he enjoys the game and have so much passion for it), he has given so much of joy to not only Indians but for many cricket fans in the world for last 23 years.Hence please do not put him undue phycological presurre since he does not deserve that. He is the best person to decide when to quit and he deserves that right. Till than lets enjoy his game.

Agree to a large extent. But it is not nice to see him being dismissed cheaply while other batsmen score more. 146 vs SA in early 2011 was the last innings he played dominating the opposition. But after that, he has got a couple of 80s & 90s. But never convincing. I am a big fan of Sachin myself, but lets accept the truth. He is past his prime. He may enjoy cricket, but is it justified if he scores in single digits or below 50 for such a long period?

First of all happy to see a decent reply and a healthy debate in a forum where some people who do not even know cricket misuse it, answering to you somehow i feel he will bounce back and also feel as some wrote he can come down the order at 5 or6 so that he will be able to continue some more time, ofcouse these are wishes as a sachin fan and statistics are otherwise, But i always feel performance are not based on statistics but it is vice versa, from when he was 32,33 years he is facing this presurre and every time he has bounced back, hope he does that again one last time and leave the game on a high.

If he bounces back and scores runs, i will be the happiest person coz it will benefit the team. but yes, I would like to see him score atleast a couple of 50s in this series.

Tendulker would only retire after playing a test mach alongwith his son. His other acheivements are beyond anybodys reach. This record will also v=be unique and unacheivable in the cricket history. So please help and support him to acheive this landmark.

sure we will support him untill he scoring runs for india...if he can score when his son comes y not we will suport him
Sachin has just been a batsman and after personal milestones. Ponting captained his side to glorious successes, batted well and has been a far superior fielder. On a non-cricketing note, I wonder why nobody "gifted" a Ferrari to Ponting so that he could avail of custom duty waiver and then sell off the "gift".

ponting playing for australia not for india thats all now i think u can understand what i meant
Re: Ponting far superior to Sachin....
by Govind Sahu on Dec 03, 2012 02:13 PM
Sachin is far superior to Ponting because Sachin was facing bowler of Australia while Ponting is facing listless India Bowlers. Sachin has more pressure as entire team depends on him while the pressure on ponting is limited. Sachin has faced wrath of many Umpires giving LBW when he was actually not out, on the otherhand no such thing has been recored by any other big player.

agree with govind !! its easy playing indian bowlers and easier to be a part of the best team in the world. but sachin played for inconsistent indian team . more often than not indian bowling has always been a disappointment . hence additional pressure on indian batsmen , especially sachin !!

Dude, to answer you in your own words, Ponting played in bouncy faster wickets of australia and sachin played more in lifeless pitches of india. SO who is a better player

Sachin played in spinning pitches like subcontinent as he is born here & dickey played in his country

Your reply lies in your question itself.Sachin got it as richly deserved it,being a person PAR EXCELLANCE in addition to being a Geat Player who destroyed the best of bowlin in all parts of the cricketing world. Agreed that Ponting was undoubtedly a great batsman but stands poorly in front of our Sachin in all aspects.Ponting is no comparision to Sachin, remember MONKEYGATE EPISODE OR PONTING RAISED HIS FINGER DECLARING INDIAN BATSMAN OUT WHICH BOOMRANGED INTO A MAJOR CONTROVERSY EVEN THREATENING THE END OF TOUR.SACHIN is a perfect GENTLEMAN & HAS BROUGHT GLORY TO THE COUNTRY & ALSO TO THE GAME OF CRICKET BY HIS BEHAVIOUR ALSO.
He has created divides within team , never respected the talent or experience of his players(laxman, sewag, etc etc), pitch curators or any one for that matter. He will never earn team respect or get the best of his team. In short he is no "captain cool".
he is a disaster for indian cricket hope he is forced to quit soon
