You and VVS laxman have the same problem.Try to battle trough the First 10 overs. Just to get used to circumstances. And what I saw in England series. Parthiv Patel and Rahane both have to improve their footwork. Both are moving a bit too much in.(LBW)
Unlike the selection of the T20 side , selecting a quality and winnable Indian TEST side is a real challenge for the selectors. It is a tricky thing and only after AUS & England home series we would know where we stand. The selectors and BCCI is to be blamed for having created such a situation by neglecting timely succession planning. Only question is whether BCCI is still prepared to effect necessary changes for Future ? Or just keep suffering from Sachin syndrome even after the two successive TEST white washes series ? This is not to suggest that Sachin or Laxman should not have been picked for the NZ series..No.Their selection is welcome but does BCCI have definite timeline for their retirement ? Is the succession plan in place with names ? Inclusion of Cheteshawr Pujara in place of Dravid is a pointer to such succession plan but in respect of the greats , Laxman and Sachin both of whom do look spent forces , the position is still not clear! Even Zaheer needs a retirement time line. Now coming to the specifics of the team, Inclusion of A Rahane is welcome but inclusion of Suresh Raina is a futile exercise. Raina has neither the aptitude nor the skill of a TEST batsman and some younger prolific Ranji scorer like BIst could have been inducted. Including three spinners is a good step but the only question is whether the easy going Piyush Chawala is prepared to do the hard work and slog it out for five days ?

England ranked No.1 in ODI cricket. during the rating period i.e last 2 yrs starting aug 2010 they lost 6-1 in aus and 5-0 in india. Plenty of series wins at home and in uae (4-0) made them no.1. Clearly one of the best examples of a team being ranked 1 but certainly not he best in odi cricket

Shame india and BCCI still play Boring&anti-national TEST Cricket even now!Who cares for Boring and Poverty-producing and useless TEST CRICKET and Long duration ranji&duleep trophy cricket, etc??? THIS GAME OF CRICKET WAS INTRODUCED BY CROOKED AND WICKED BRITISHERS LIKE MAKING AND MARKETING OF MAHATMA AND non-violence dirty trick to make all majority hindus mmorrns and ennuchs and cowards forever and the past 64 years shows that the crooked britishers were successful to make us a BANANA REPUBLIC of majority morrons with their dirty games, we must BAN Test Cricket forever and WE must shout that we will not allow Boring and Poverty-producing and useless TEST CRICKET to make us poorer any more. One day cricket or t20 or t30 cricket ONLY must be allowed and THEY MUST BE ALLOWED TO BE PLAYED ONLY ON WEEK-ENDS OR HOLIDAYS so that we do not lose millions of working hours of men and women and youth any more and we do not remain poor forever due to useless and time-wasting and Boring TEST Cricket too. All patrrioti c citizens and sponsors MUST BOYCOT TEST Cricket and ranji and dulepp trophy cricket FORVER if they love the nation and want the nation to be super power in next 20 or 25 years too!

Centuries at Lords are all greater batsman than Sachin MH Mankad 184 L DB Vengsarkar 157 SC Ganguly 131 DB Vengsarkar 126* M Azharuddin 121 GR Viswanath 113 AB Agarkar 109* R Dravid 103* DB Vengsarkar 103 RJ Shastri 100
Lot of people are very annoyed that Tendulkar is back into the Test team. It seem they have had enough of this guy.. there logic seems quite pathetic. If SRT is scoring runs and contributing to team's success then he should be in the team as long as he wants to play.. but, if he doesn't perform then he should retire.. after all, he's not getting younger. Now, having said that he's still way better than other batters in the team. The only parameter should be PERFORMANCE. How many of you remember than Imran Khan played international cricket until 39, Boycott until 42 & the great Don until 40. the point here is age is just a number. Bhupati/Leander are 38 but still active in the circuit. :-)

Do not worry about minority critics of Sachin. They are jealous that Congress was able to persuade Sachin to accept Rajyasabha membership.

very well said, Jaquar...after his scintillating performances in aus and eng where we won 8 tests if people still want sachin out of the team when he is in the form of his life...people are really foolish...wanting him to retire when he is at the top of his game...please anybody tell me when he ever performed better in his life than the last year when he was at the peak of his prowess...

appreciate your sarcasm. Truth is sachin is way past his best but neither he nor bcci nor selectors mind that.only interest left is money plus records
Aswhin is not a test player. Just because his color is same as Mutthiah Murali doesn;t mean Ashwin is same as Murali in the bowling Dept.
Ashwin;s bowling records in Australia speaks about his performance. Not sure why he is getting the chances hen they are lot of spinners who deserve the chance ahead of him.
Also the questionable selection is Suresh Raina. Instead of him, selectors should have opted for Rayudu. Raina failed miserably and I believe he got the chance because he is representing chennai in IPL Matches.

Hello Kumar, (Racist) can you point one bowler who have done better in Australia. Ashwin took 3 wickets in first match and scored much better than the leading batsman. You are jealous of Ashwin and he is thinking bowler.

who are the 'lot of spinners'? Are you talking about other country spinners? No one is here to support Ashwin or any player but you can be specific (hope atleast u did not had bhajji in your mind). Mention some spinner name and then you will get the correct response. About color, if you are from India you will almost have his color unless your parents are from different race and you dont have any rights to talk about indian color in this forum. Murali is a legend and Ashwin can never be him, i guess everyone will agree with you in that.

ojha's record is simply fantastic in all formats of the game....we have lost only 1 test when he was in the team and we won 9 tests in which he took 45 wickets...what is this if not performance?

The reason is that those "lot of spinners" that you talk about do not exist. Not sure about the color aspect, it was needless. In trying to be oversmart, you are just proving yourself to be racist.
