Sachin is slowly planning his retirement
by cc man on Apr 02, 2012 11:40 PM  | Hide replies

All,

Looks this is the first step in his path to retirement. He is planning slowly.

I think he will call it a day in ODI soon.

Salute when players resign and brickbats when they score centuries? Strange new fandom of India.

And he acknowledges it, unlike some others who continue to captain the side despite disasters.

He played more than 450 ODIs and 190 Tests. weren't all those game important? Country didn't wanted a good performance in all these games? Or the country Just wanted to perform only in some particular matches?

And "he will never play" or "he never played" ?

If you means, "he never played", Go and check the stats and come with atleast 3 players who played atleast 75 matches in overseas and performed better than Sachin in Overseas

positive decision
by taklu on Apr 02, 2012 10:21 PM  | Hide replies

I think its a good positive decision for MI. harbhajan can lead the side (as he did lead mi to victory in clt20 and won praises from his teammates) meanwhile sachin can feel a bit relieved from captaincy responsibilities and concentrate more on his batting and aid in morale boosting behavior for the team, besides he can play the role of a mentor to MI while bhajji can take captainship responsibility.

"Hero-Worship" in "INDIA"
by RAKESH NAIR on Apr 02, 2012 10:10 PM  | Hide replies

"Fans" mainly in the "Age Group" of "8-14 yrs" are "Toast" for "Celebrity"....& now "Cricketers"!!!
These "Fans" realize wen they 'Grow" up....how "Foolish" they were.....dng "Hero worship"!!!
"Cricket" is a "Team sport" & only "Team" matters!!!!
But the "Opportunistic Corporate Media","Sponsors" & "Corporates" Feast on this "Hero worship"...& make "Lots" of "Money"....
The "Argument" which is gng "around" for "Critics/Sachin Bashers"....is nobody has picked the "Bat"...."Nobody" has played "Cricket Match"!!!!!
"Sachin" is playing for "India"..it is "Service" to "Nation"....So "Everybody" has "Right" to "Praise/Critice"..as it is "Our India"!!!
This "Argument" was put forth by "Sachin" himself ...When he said that "Whoever is asking for his Retirement didnt bring him in the Team"!!!
So...When an "Individual" tries to become "Bigger" than "Game"/"Nation" ...is "Arrogant"...that is the time for his "Retirement" & in the "Interests" of "Nation"!!!!
