At Oxford he was called 'The Noob' and he really lived his life like one. Every one knows about his cricket statistics so I'd like to pay tribute by relating one of my favourite Pataudi stories. He was playing at Hull for Sussex when he hit a bouncer over square leg for six. As luck would have it, the ball landed on the hood of a car - significantly denting it. The bowler thought it was a fluke and bowled another bouncer with the same result. When Pataudi went to apologize to the owner during a break and offered to pay for the damage, the owner would have none of it and made Pataudi sign on the dent as a souvenir to show friends.

The facts don't add up. In 1948 he was only 3 years old. How could he have supported the incursion of 1948?

TZ you are so full of wisdumb. When Rajas and devtas hunted the animal was not extinct. But this old fart hunted because he took his name seriously and hunted a deer which was declared extinct.
Thisis a great loss to the country. I have had the privilege of meeting him in the year 1962 and have been a great fan of his. He was really a great batsman. In the year 1964 England, he made his highest score of 203 not out. During that match one shot Maharaj Kumar of Vijaya Nagaram (fondly called Vizzy) was the commentator, commented his shot as "Chabuk Shot, this type of shot was made by his father in the Year 1933". He was also a fantastic fielder ofcourse a controversial captain.
