Dead Duck

Indian team has carried his useless burden for long in one day cricket. He has contributed in many loses but not in single win

Dravid was never cried when not taken and was never a burden when he played.

Agreed he was not a shot maker but he played true to himself and for the team.

I agree with Danney, he has made us loose more matches. Just a stat at number 3 Dravid has far fewer man of the matches and I think 0 man of the zero man of the series contrasted against a Tendulkar, Ganguly, Yuvraj, Sehwag and Dhoni. The latter 3 in fewer matches

you ass whole what u know about cricket and statistics, he's better then tendulkar, who is scoring only against a weak team, look at his figures, when out of form he will shout of his stupid elbow, when a series is in India, all say I am fit, like the lazy Bhajji etc, these are all tigers at home mouse abroad, shame, but a true legend calls it quits today, if he was from Mumbai, a Bharth Rathna would have been given long time ago, that's it

Kumble on Dravid
by hemanth kumar on Sep 16, 2011 03:43 PM

Privilege to have played with Dravid: Kumble.

He was a Team Player
He has probably donned every role he has been asked to, other than that of a specialist bowler, though it is worth remembering that he also has four ODI wickets!

Dravid replacement.....
by Jaiho on Sep 16, 2011 02:45 PM

Cheteswar Pujara can replace Dravid whenever Dravid retires from Test cricket. Pujara has to work hard though from now on even more.

Will miss you in ODIs my hero!!

Oh!! I couldn't see this day coming!! Oh my!! It hurts when players of my generation retire one after the other....esp the one like Rahul whom most people look up to...simple down to earth, gentle, disciplined, hard-working, well-read, wise, not supremely 'talented' like Sachin or Sehwag, but nonetheless effective than most.

Rahul, my Hero, I will miss you in ODIs...glad selectors gave a chance for him to retire from ODIs on his own terms. Now, watching you in Tests becomes all the more precious. And once you retire from that game as well...then it will be goodbye to Cricket from me.

Selectors din't give him any choice....Selectors din't have any choice but to take him. Dravid was taken to negotiate swinging deliveries in the early phase of innings so that NextGeneneration players can come and tonk the easy balls. That's all.

Excemplary players.....
by Jaiho on Sep 16, 2011 01:26 PM  | Hide replies

Dravid, Sachin, Laxman & Kumble are excellent role models for all youngsters. It would be very difficult to emulate them on or even off the field.

With so much money, ability and fame they maintained poise and good manners for over two decades. Nobody in International cricket will disagree with this.

Dravid making head count in team
See the performance
T-20 match 31 runs of 20 balls
second one day 32 runs of 31 balls
third one day 2 runs of 11 balls
fourth one day 19 runs in 33 balls
See the above data not a single match winning inning.
Consider the case If tendulkar make above performance then people will say lot of things against him becuase he had set very high standard for him and everytime SRT goes they expect match winning inning from him.
See dravid and other are not performing no one is saying nothing.
