Kambli may be speaking truth but full or half cant say? We have to live with the reality that cricket is more business than sports and stakes are high. But if semifinal was fixed then next he will say world cup 2011 was Fixed for india becoz we have won now.If it could be for loosing it could also for winning
Whether Kambli is saying this for the sake of money or publicity is a different matter. But I for one cannot forget the manner in which wickets were thrown away that night. Also one of the most poignant memories in Indian cricket has to be Vinod Kambli coming out crying. People may have more records and performances than Kambli. But his passion towards the game and nation was surely unmistakable. Every true sportsman playing for the nation would have given it all. Lets not forget that those days were the ones when Azhar and co. started their dirty tricks and he also started courting Bijlani, a sureshot Bollywood route to match fixers. While Kambli's doubts might never have been proved even if it was made the next day in 1996, every fan watching the game surely felt that at least a few of them were upto something. Lets not forget another controversy about Akram not playing against India in the quaterfinals at Blore , the last minute. And there were proved allegations of fixing with Akram too..!! Also there was a strong rumour about the team not wanting to go to Lahore to play the final in case they won the semis. Surely some internal forces in the team were at work if Kambli and others were shocked that India did not opt to bat.

Kambli statement is baseless, he is the baseless creature. Some years ago he made one more statement that SACHIN has made him to stop and ruin his career from cricket. Abe Masala dena hain to Rakhi Sawant se seekh.
