kambli has become poor, he needs money. by claiming 1996 semis fixed, he will be invited by many tv channels for interviews, per appearence he will charge atleast 5 lakhs. so by the time the dust settles down, he would have made atleast 30 to 50 lakhs. great idea by kambli.
The refusal of the BCCI to investigate into the allegations by Vinod Kambli on grounds that it was made after 15 years is totally rubbish. Offenders should not be allowed to escape no matter when the allegation against them comes up. The game of cricket holds great passion in India and to me in particular. I remember that night when I was saying just one more win against the Sri Lankans boys that the march to pakistan to get the cup after almost 13 years than. The loss broke my heart and undoubtedly the hearts of a millions of Indian fans. I request the sports ministry of India to conduct a thorough inquiry into this allegation so that the Indian fans may know the truth. Moreover the offenders if found should be punished severely as their act if proved will tantamount to be traitors to our country India. This move will prevent further match fixing among Indian sports persons and save our country from disgrace.
Men do make mistakes, at times we feel like charged up to beat them up. But its not worth it. Azhar and his catches, run outs effected and the strokes with his quick wrists, he still is some one who motivates a genuine cricket lover. And his downfall a lesson for anyone who is in temptation to fix. I stand by Azhar he definitely was a great player. Kambli, well talented but could have left things behind and carried on to give Indian fans a better cricket than to have brooded over what happened and that too all 14-15 years. Hey people fail in board exams without studying and insincere to their parents. But dont they clear their exams in their subsequent exams and move on. Kambli is kiddish to be squabling for so long for some spilt milk all these years. Cricket is a passion in this nation but not for those without wisdom and brains. Lets keep it a gentleman's game wherein the men could at times be off their character. Even for the Pakistan or other international players, we do have rules but its a game and people are meant to play not Practice and Preach as Lecturers.
What use in digging graves from 1996? Azhar and Jadeja were talented players. Azhar has accepted he was influential in 3 games alone. He has been honest to that extent and has borne the burden on his shoulders with the ban since then. Better pays then may have made them better professionals, though they were rich even then the devils temptation stings everyone. Just wish present and future matches are clean. Kambli or Azhar did have talent and abilities unique to them. Attitude and desires may have made them blunder if at all. If Kambli wants us to excuse his drunk behavior and arrogance so should he forgive his erstwhile captains gamblings. Some may be due to passion for cricket and some for money but Azhar is also human. Don't punish some one for what was petty when compared to the scams we have these days at national level. Also this fixing episode is beyond a decade what use now?

well said shankar raj, i also read somewhere that azhar is supposed to have accepted that he tried to influence 3 matches. whatever his pressures or whatever he was threatened with or money greed or whatever...
he is human and if he fell for lucre of money it is disapointing but for that to assume that the 99 tests he played or more than 300 odis played ALL should be looked with suspicion is silly...
We can not just brush away Vinod Kambli's statement. It is a known fact that inspite of curator's advice that India should bat first if toss is won Azhar made the choice of fielding first. As Azhar is already a culprit of match fixing there is nothing wrong if probe is ordered. Instead of rubbishing Kambli's claim Azhar should have openly told that he is ready for any probe.

Sachin will also get caught. If you happen to watch the replay of the match ,see sachin's dismissal. He watches the ball go behind and get collected by Wk .even after watching that he moves from the crease and removes the bat also from the crease. YOU TOO SACHIN?

if you read the team manage and coach statement for this match "it was decided to field first in the team management meeting" then how question came to bat first.. 1996 world cup Srilanka was chasing any runs on the board they have beaten india in the league match in Delhi by chasing... it was fare decision and not fixed.. Kambli should apologize the nation and caption too...

kambli is a irresponsible man and he himself is responsible for destroying his cricket career by not taking it seriously as tendulkar did. he was more interested in side acitivities. if instead of extra curricular activities he had concentrated on his cricket career he might have progressed. Besides later he also started failing regularly. so it was because of his cricket failures also that he was dropped. not only his irresponsible behaviour. he was sreesanth of his time.
and certainly azhar has more authority and more credibility than kambli. also he achived more in cricket field than kambli...
