Exclusion- Not a good decision
by satish singh on Nov 18, 2011 11:10 AM

Yuvraj exclusion from 3rd Test against West Indies in the middle of the series can't be justified, even when India is winning the matches. He is a very talent batsman and has all the capabilities to change the face of the match at any time.

Reason may be given that he is not performing as per his capabilities but one should not forget that he is going through a tough time and he needs support from BCCI, selector and team members. It is the time when selector should show confidence in him.

If performance is the only criteria, Sachin would have been thrown out from Indian team 3 to 4years back, but he is still the main bats man of Indian Team. If we can show confidence in Sachin Tendulkar, why not we show the same in Yuvi, who is a really a wonder for Indian Cricket?

Also Ravindra Jadeja is a better replacement for Yuvraj- left hander and all rounder. With Yuvi's exit, the batting team has only 1 left hander

Yuvraj Singh

It is unfortunate that Yuvraj Singh has been dropped for the 3rd test.Dhoni is right in recognising the talent Yuvraj has.He could have been retained for the 3rd test and if he did not perform, then he could have been dropped for further tests. But Yuvraj himself is also to be blamed for his plight. He doesn't exude confidence when batting and always looks like he is going to get out in the next ball.He is a good fielder and bowler but he is picked for his batting and he has to come good otherwise with many talented youngsters waiting,he is bound to be dropped.

Dhoni - please define your process
by LOL on Nov 18, 2011 11:04 AM

For heavens sake you keep using this term in interviews as if you are a corporate CEO. Can you be more clear about what you mean by the "Process" that others are not aware of?

But he is not threatened to get converted to Hinduism whereas in some powerful countries like Pakistan, Yousuf Youhana had to convert to Mohammed Yousuf for being in the team.

Sachin is not a singh but people in selection committee are also not Singh. Thats why Sachin is around and Yuvi not!! If there were more Singh in selection committee Yuvi may get to play more matches than anyone else!

Bhai saahab, Sachin's worst phase in career is better than Yuvraj's best.
So, don't be over emotional and see stats befor giving silly statements. Rediff has opened nice platform for fools like you.

Yuvi or Virat
by LOL on Nov 18, 2011 11:01 AM

Selection comittee to decide. I think Yuvi doesnt add much value though he has a lot of tests experience behind him. Virat is playing very well and should be preffered. Yuvi should be either restricted to one day internationals or given the much needed rest along with Bhajji.

YUVI is a class player. He deserves more chances in TESTS. He can be a real match winner in TESTs too. Just because he is going through a bad patch, he shouldn't be rested.

Dhoni is displaying all characteristics of a good captain. Putting faith is the best thing anyone can do for YUVI at the moment.
