What a great victory by CSK? I love my team because they don't depend on anybody. Every one knows their responsibilities. Go ahead CSK to win CL and IPL-2012
If some body like Dhoni had a Luck & Talent, then nobody can beat them either MI, RCB, KKR all their team efforts gone in vain. T-20, World Cup and IPL Titles not a joke to achieve all those titles with Talent of Captaincy after all the luck is with Dhoni. Well done Dhoni. Dhoke rak diya sabko............
Chennai got two team awards that matter most - fairplay and IPL. But they didn't win a single individual award. Hope other teams learn from this and concentrate on team building rather than celebrating individuals. Success in cricket is not about having Tendulkar or Gayle or Sehwag in the team, but the effort of the everyone. Congrats to CSK for another great performance. Their master stroke was to retain the same team in the auctions.
The advantage of CSK retained almost all the players from IPL 1. They gave importance to the local players (ie TN players). But RCB neglected Dravid, Uthappa & Kumble. They didn't have local players

Madam, CSK had only 3 players in playing 11 from TN most of the time. Your argument is incorrect.
is Masala cricket where ordinary players look great. Look at CSK side only Dhoni, Bollinger and Hussey can hold their spot in Test team. Raina is finding it difficult to hold his spot. Among other teams Yuvraj, Rohit Sharma, Sourabh Tiwarey, Virat Kohli can not make it to test team.

What about the match before? Where Chennai chased a big target to win in a neutral field? Go and hang yourself...
It may be too early to call. But, Dhoni has definitely started showing signs of one of the greatest cricket captains ever. Lets sit back and think. 1. He has led a team of young Indians to World T20 title in his very first captaincy stint after India has gone through its worst phase in cricket. 2. He led Chennai to all 4 IPL semis, won three of those semis and in Finals too he has made it two out of three - the only loss coming against an unstoppable Royals. 3. He did go through his share of ups and downs, lost finals, had a few bad series but everytime he proved his detractors wrong. 4. He led India to No.1 spot in tests and No.2 in ODIs three years into his captaincy stint. 5. He won his first ever ODI world cup outing as captain. 6. Look at the body language of the current cricketers. Its definitely more positive than the previous generation(Sachin, Ganguly, Dravid, Kumble era). Not taking any credit of those great men. I always cherish them. Dhoni even leveraged their experience/mentorship to a great extent. 5. It does not matter which team he is given. He is able to lead them efficiently. I do not know how many such captains we can see. I don't know even if Steve Waugh could have done that.
I think his approach towards cricket is simple - 'Live in the present. He doesn't think about previous session, over or delivery and he does not think about what would be the result'. Just marshall his resources towards the current delivery. Hats Off Dhoni!

Why the West Indian team? Why not Kenya or Holland?
Good arguements are made when both parties talk sense.
What he has with him is a team that was nutured from Ganguly's time. It was his job to get his teams confidence and play as a unit.
The result is that India is no.1 in tests and have won the world cup. Not to forget that he has not yet lost a test series, home and abroad.
If you give him the present West Indies team, he might be able to make them play much better and beat the top teams in the world.
I'm not a big fan of Dhoni. But what he has achieved has never been achieved by any other Indian captain. This includes Kapil Dev, Gavaskar, Azaruddin, Srikanth, Venkatraghavan etc.
When a player deserves credit, give it to him.
Just tell me one more captain from the crieketing world who has achieved what Dhoni has?

After reading many posts in Rediff containing straight regional fight, I think it would be nice if they start franchising or naming the teams without bringing in any regional barriers. Supporters will be left only with their favorite players but not the favorite region. Even though Chennai won, there is nothing to do with tamils and TN. It is team of individuals from all over India along with international players from other countries. I dont really understand why unnecessarily regional thoughts are coming into supporters mind. Is it just because of the fact that Super Kings is named with Chennai? Forgot about all these thinks folks and appreciate the Indian players who did well in this IPL. This is good format to bring out lot of fresh talent from India. Now selectors cannot be too much biased on their own regional favoritism. Let's start cheering India for WI tour.
