Gavaskar said 'he has extra time to play his shots, has all the shots in the book and plays well off front as well as back foot'. But is there a place for him in the middle order?

Actually it could be that he may be a threat to Dhoni, just in case Dhoni gets out of form, and is unable to retain his place in the team. otherwise difficult to explain his absence for so long.
India needs a person like Kohli to groom for captaincy. These selectors just made quota selection. Pravinkumar, munaf patel, ishant sharma again vinaykumar will sit on bench & come back. why the hell W. Saha why not Uthapa.
Mindless wolves on the prowl! for all those arm-chair pundits who are ridiculing the selection process; let me remind you, it is the same selection committee which selected the victorious team for the world cup!

Rayudu will never make it to indian X1. Go and check his performances even in recent IPL. When ever every one failed, he failed big time. he scored when some one else scored. it means he does not have the talent to carry the side on his shoulders. Nothign against Rayudu. Just the facts on observation. Just checking the scores matrix will not reveal but also follwing the matches will tell the true picture.

you r judging rayudu just on this IPL performance he has been knocking doors since the nat west trophy win days ...the day yuv raj and kaif gave india a victory over england chasing 325 ...same day RAYUDU with i.pathan chased 330 in 9th wicket partnership beating down england under -19 team...rayudu was under -19 india captain ...just becoz politics of sivalal yadav (hyd) rayudu's bright future turned dark
He has first class average of 67.72 which is better than every batsman in contention. Here is the comparison of first class averages - Tendulkar (59.86), Rayudu (42.17), Sehwag (50.61), Dhoni (37.4), Gambhir (54.75), Kohli (57.86), Yuvraj (45.1), Raina (43.15), Badrinath (62.31), Pujara (53.28). Selectors are turning blind eye to his performances in domestic competitions and giving chances to the same failed players again and again.
plays well only in IPL. While playing for India, he seems to lack motivation, often throwing away his wickets. Not a good sign. Should've given a chance to Rayudu than bringing back Rohit again and again.
Rayudu looks at ease against international bowlers... his strole making capacity matches any hard hitter in India... its just bad luck the poor lad lost his way so early in his career..in his teens he was the most promising junior player in India. Rohit sharma has had enough chances... he was never consistent.
