Instead of trying Munaf again and again...Leaving aside all politics, Dhoni should opt for Sreesanth. He will be a great support to Sahir khan. Sreeanth has the necessary punch to tackle the Pak batsmen. Sreesanth can make the difference at critical situations. Dhoni.....this is a do or die situation. Forget your differences with this talented bowler. Victory is crucial not the ego what you have. Please

sreeshant loses direction once targetted. he has to keep line and length.

Semi Finals is not a place to experiment Munaf was below par but was not a disaster No change needed

No it was a matter of foolishness - it took Yusuf 6 failed innings to make Dhoni realise that all we need there is a steady batsman rather than a madmax hitter. Actually holding that no 6 position is his job which will not happen in this WC anyway.

Sreesanth's problem is that he does not have control over emotions. A Sreesanth with ice-cool head would be a match winner for India. I dont think Yuvi is radically an improved cricketer from the SA series - it is an ice-cool head that Yuvi has used to maximize his talents, and take his opportunities. Sreesanth has not used his opportunities and Dhoni has not given him much opportunities either. Sreesanth bowled 2 bad overs, he is out. Nehra is given the toughest over to bowl in the whole WC, and after that the poor Nehra who is working hard to get back into form is now out. Munaf is just keeping his place in the team with his regular line and length BS. Hats off to Dhoni.

You make some very good points. Sreesanth has talent, just needs to not get carried away. Even when he decided not to do his usual antics, he still got carried away with bowling the first over in the first match of WC against Bangladesh. And when he got hit in that over, his nerves took over his thought process.
Dhoni should have given him the ball in the later overs, and then too Zaheer and Dhoni should have spoken with him between deliveries and calmed him down. The guy has a lot of talent, and even in that first spell againt BD he bowled some seriuosly swinging balls that almost knocked the stump off but it found a little nick on the edge of the bat.
The one BIG positive that Sreesanth woudl bring to the team is his positive body language...something Munaf and Nehra so lack.
Since this is a big match, I would like to see Yusuf Pathan in, but I am not sure how all these combinations can fit into the playing eleven. The advantage of Pathan is he can really tear the bowling apart and stun the Pakistani team out of the match. Especially if the opening batsman stay on for say 35 or 40 overs and make a huge total (with India batting first), Yusuf could be sent in and told to play off an over or two calmly and then play his usual game thereafter. With Gambhir, Yuvi, Kohli, Raina,Dhoni there...it is a possible approach.
If India bat first and Openers play really well, and score fast, the team should aim for 400.

why r u so mad abt bhajji ??? what he did in this WC ???only took 6 wickets so far ????

I would swap Bhajji for a real bowler - maybe with a seamer. I would never go into a competitive match without 4 full time bowlers.
Since start of WC india's performance is declining match by match. Where as PAK's is shooting up like anything. Their bolling is refining where as india's strong batting showing some fatigue.
Re: Positive for PAK
by Dhantannan on Mar 26, 2011 02:09 PM
pak is balanced good bowling and decent batting. where as india is good batting and bad bowling. this is india's vulnerability. Pak shall target in power play. minimum 70-80 runs in 5 overs.

Very valid question. Bhajji is a failure in this tourament. They should remove him and play Ashwin. Bring Yusuf Pathan along with Raina. Bowlers...Zaheer, Sreesanth, Yuvi, Aswin. Raina, Pathan, Tendulkar and others can fill in as part time bowlers.
For batting we would have...Tendulkar, Sehwag, Gambhir, Pathan, Kohli, Yuvi,Raina, Dhoni (Eight established batsman). Followed by Ashwin (who bats well, and was an opener early on), Zaheer and Sreesanth. So all in all we have a very very deep batting line up, and we have decent bowling options.
We need to rest Bhajji and play Ashwin only as the established spinner. Yuvi would be another spinner.
------------------------------------------ The best team for the game against Pakistan ------------------------------------------ 1. Sewhag 2. Tendulkar. 3. Gambhir 4. Virat Kolhi. 5. Raina. 6. Yuvraj Singh. 7. Dhoni. 8. Ashwin. 9. Harbhajan. 10.Zaheer. 11.Sreesanth.

I spent whole day in Pakistani forum, blogs, media ...etc. They are targetting bhajji among bowlers, and Yuvi among batsman and want to break the opening partnership within 5 overs.
1.bowling is very weak, pak is aware of this and is going to exploit through hitters afridi and razzaq. 2. hit and misses players like sehwag and dhoni. both have flopped badly. 3. there is chance of law of avarages catching up with yuvi at mohali. 4. bhajji has worst record against pak. 5. razzq and kamran created a record partnership in a test in 2005-06 to save it. they shall be inspired by that.
