If India wins the cup, then the BCCI
by piri on Mar 27, 2011 02:19 PM  | Hide replies

(and its thieves-in-residence such as Pawar) will and can become immensely more corrupt owing to the further increase in popularity for the game in India !

The BCCI will promptly milk the IPL in newer and newer ways and easily succeed in further fooling the common cricket fan !

In order that such a scenario does not develop, may Pakistan beat India in the semi-finals !!

It was IPL effect that Australian bowlers betrayed their captain after taking control at 187/5.

India and the WC

Our media has already started to hint that India would emerge the winners as are all the other famous personalities around the world . I hope that our team doesnt get carried away and hope they will do justice to the wind of optimism sweeping among our populace . Media guys please give our team some breathing space and also to our stupid politicians !!!

The situation is fully favorable:

1. They are playing matches only on favorable grounds/pitches in home country before home crowd.
2. All the cricket money is on Team India, if they fail, the corporate India, bookies, organizers, media and manipulators of the game will sink in Bandra Bay.
3. Indian cricket fans will take the skin out of the team members. 2007 and 1996 are examples.
4. Cola companies will have a bad summer as they sell Pesti Cola through these cricketers.

Anil Kumble-India peaking at the right time
by Bhabani Hota on Mar 27, 2011 08:34 AM

I fully agree with the views of Anil Kumble. Every match is a different game and although the past indicate the future no one can be sure what will happen at a particular date or match. I believe that the bowlers have won the match against Australia. The fielding was reasonably good. I also hope that it is Sehwag who will win the match for us against Pakistan. I do not intend to discount the contribution of others. Dhoni is a big disappointment.India has picked up as team but not its Captain. I shall be watching his performance in the Semi-final against Pakistan.I wish he does well.

Re: thank god this clumsy jumbo has retired
by Rajan S on Mar 27, 2011 12:12 AM
From the time he had retired from intl cricket, india have seen a dearth of spin bowling options. He has been truly great esepecially in the latter parts of his career, taking wickets in both india and abroad. Harbhajan has not been able to carry on the mantle and he has struggled ever since anil's retirement. Anil is a true champion. Hats off to him.

Play Yusuf instead of Nehra. Play Sreesanth in place of Munaf (Pakistanis wont expect this, and Munaf has been ineffective, so even if Sree is going to give runs no difference, but Sree can swing and his body language is better).

Play Ashwin. Leave Bhajji. Yuvi is the other spinner anyway.

Play Yusuf and Raina too If India wants to win with Pakistan.

Dhoni is the worst captain I have seen. He is living with others best performances. He has no batting skills and no technique. How dare he to drop Yusuf Pathan!!!! On his day, Yusuf can single handedly win the match.

Bring Sreesanth instead of Munaf.

Dhoni is in the team because he is Captain. Otherwise he has no place in the team. If the rules permit he should be non-playing Captain and in stead Yusuf should be played

Agree. Yusuf should be in. He can play a BIG role and suddenly change all calculations of Pakistani camp.

The impact and fear he brings into their camp is going to numb them.

by S Narain on Mar 26, 2011 02:26 PM
Azhar was retained as captain of

India as 10 long years and

Captained 3 world cup...India could

not go beyond 1st stage except once

...whereas kapil was removed

captian within 1 year of winning

world cup..Sourav was removed as

Captain within 2yr of reaching

finals in 2003..

So BCCI is biggest traitor..bigger than Azhar

Maybe you were a kid when the Indian match fixing scandal involving Azhar, Jadeja, Prabhakar, Cronje etc happened. Azhar's famous confession to BCCI was, "Haan, maine match banaya tha". (Yes, I fixed matches).

Please google and read up the proceedings. Why else do you think he was banned for life?

We Indians are so starry eyed that even if we get match fixing taped on camera shown on TV with some of our current idols...we will forget it within a month and be back questioning...fixing? What fixing?

Read up on Shashtri and Navjyot's statements also, about how they were concerned about Azhar getting gifts of gold watches and money on tours that were all over his room, and that they had had their doubts, but only when it came tumbling out culminating in his confession against overwhelming evidence, that they finally connected the dots.

dont put indias loss to pak on azhar. he was one of the few good performers against pak's bowling in 90s.

dont forget wasim waqar were at their class peak in 90s, on top of which india was not a batting powerhouse as it is now.

india also lacked any left handers or wicketkeeper batsman back then.

Today, Pak has lost its quicks to corruption, fixing and retirement issues. Pak has also lost the opportunity to play games against quality opposition thanks to terror attacks.

India on the other hand has upgraded cricketing infrastructure, sorted out everything except finding a genuine fast bowler.

This is the reason why stats are so. Dont post illiterate comments that Azhar traitor was the reason India would lose to Pak.

I feel like btchslappng guys like u
