Indian Team

have to win today to enter quartet final with pride and not by dafault by losing against the west indies and still making it by virtue of poor results of other teams

A team with Low morale
by Diggy Khan on Mar 20, 2011 12:08 PM  | Hide replies

The Present Indian Team under Mr. Dhoni is collection of talented lot plauged with Low morale and deep dissension within its rank, due to inappropriate conduct of the captain himself.

First the captain for no reason finds fault with a promising fast Bowler from down south on the eve of the match with bangladesh.

Then, out of Adamancy, persists with a spin Bowler who has not shown that much promise in the matches he has played so far, though other option of selecting promising Spinner from south exists.

In the postmatch interview, he criticises the Middle order batting for the failure against SA match, inspite of the fact that he watched the wickets falling at other end like nine pins, and he failed to excercise his authority as captain to tell the batsman at the other end not to play to the "Gallaries".

Finally, his Blunder agianst SA match, when inspite of the whole cricketing world expected him to make harbajjan bowl the last crucial over,he chose to loose the match in asking Nehra to bowl the last over, and created what is now commonly called as second " Chetan Chauhan " syndrome that would play against India whenever India meets SA again, and helped SA to get out of their" CHOCKERS" tag.

i think r present indian team needs to go for some kind of psychiatric therapy where their morale can be boosted and they find a way to win matches from situeations where they are gonna lose

Well commented on that Diggy,I fully support you all they way,Dhoni has made a mockery of Indian cricket & should be dropped not only from captaincy but also from the Indian team,he has shown to the 1 billion people of India, how he is politically motivated in doing what he pleases, has grudges against some players & only favours some indian team mates,it seems success has gone to his head & only thing he knows is to amass wealth by modelling, let him give up cricket & become a full fledged model.

Dhoni has made the Indian cricket bored!
by punit sharma on Mar 20, 2011 12:05 PM  | Hide replies

Yes, in the last 10 years or so I have felt that I don't have much interest left in the Indian cricket..rather i like to watch the game of other teams..thanks to that boring cool captaincy by Dhoni..Really it's hard to find an aggressive captain like Ganguly today because of which Indian fans were enjoying the cricket.

i think our team needs to be more aggressive and less on defensive because if u see r previous games v have been playing to cautiously at stages where we require to take some chances..........

by SHRIHARI on Mar 20, 2011 11:40 AM  | Hide replies

its very important that india loses againt west indies so that they can avoid australia and paly sri lanka in the QF

against the mighty the aussies the current indian attack with zero class bowlers has zero chance of success

against SriLanka atlaest we have some chance

Why India cannot win WC
by bcd on Mar 20, 2011 11:10 AM  | Hide replies

India are not playing like a team, instead of playing cricket they
are playing something else.

1. Even though chawla played badly in couple of matches, he was given more chances.
match, where as Sreesanth never got a chance after one bad match

2. Looking at the team composition in all previous matches there seems
to be a regionalism crept in to the Indian team, players from south are
not been given chances.

3. Players in the playing eleven should be selected irrespective of caste and creed.

When India plays unitedly then only hey can win wc otherwise they won't

Your knowledge about cricket appears to be poor. Chawla was only wrist leg spinner in the team whereas Sreeshanth had other pace bowling alternatives in the form of Munaf & Nehra. There is nothing to chose between these three as all are equally bad even though Nehra in spite of his one bad over in the tournament is little better over the remaining two. In point no. 3 you argue that there should not be selection on the basis of caste & creed but in item 2 you argue that south is being ignored by not selecting Ashwin. Ashwin is an Off spinner like Harbhajan and when the latter had been bowling well Ashwin was kept out to bring variety in bowling. Indian players are more used to play 20-20 because of IPL therefore they prefer lofts more than drive. They do not take quick singles or twos. The coach has failed to teach them how to take quick runs. Only Dhoni is good in running whereas Sehwag and Yuvraj are very poor runners. They keep faith more in hitting sixex and fours.

All in all Dhoni,is all in favour of Northern cricketers, infact he has, group of chelas' in the team,he is politically motivated, and everybody in India has seen him during the matches played in this world cup.God help Dhoni & God help India with his captaincy.

Re: Why India cannot win WC

Correct. This Indian team is actually North Indian team lead by a Bihari and full of Delhiwallahs. Not even one south Indian is getting chance to play and it is ridiculous why Ashwin is not selected.
Dhoni wants to protect Harbhajan's inefficiency from public eyes by not giving chance to Ashwin.
In today's match, that strategy to save his dear friend Harbhajan is going to get over.
Dear friends, compare how Ashwin and Harbhajan bowl in this match and see the difference. Decide who the better spinner is and who is good for India's future. Clearly, Ashwin is going to outperform Harbhajan who has lost his talent by indulging in unwanted theatrics in the field and indulgence in girls and adverts like his captain has spoiled his game forever.
Whatever happens with the result of this match, the most interesting battle in today's match is between Harbhajan and Ashwin.
Let South India show what we are capable of when given a chance.

Advice to the media, if they care
by vikadakavi on Mar 20, 2011 10:57 AM  | Hide replies

Some print and electronic media are at it again, mindlessly to put it mildly. On the eve of WI vs India match at Chennai today, some of them are singing and dancing about Tendulkar on the verge of creating a new record.

As a layman and lover of cricket, my sincere advice to the media is: Please leave Tendulkar alone, you and I will never know what he is thinking about, unless he himself speaks out. Media has the responsibility to behave soberly on its own, as any sensoring is unwelcome. Please focus on the teams, match, playing conditions, strategies etc. The match, the teams, the way and spirit in which the game is played and the result are FAR MORE IMPORTANT and in fact, THEY ARE ONLY IMPORTANT from a pure sports angle. Individual records and landmarks are INCIDENTAL to the GAME ITSELF and they are not greater than the game itself under any circumstances.

Let Tenulkar create records,he deserves it,why bother about him going slow in his nineties & comparing him with Duminy, after all Tendlya is a Master blaster & at the fag end of his career, don't take tension about Tendlya scoring centuries, instead take Tension why Dhoni is behaving abnormally in this world cup.

U R True,Vika,

I have no doubt in Sachins talent(Infact,no body should have)but when it comes to scoring centuries,he definitely gets a little slower...where as if u see JP Duminy in the match against Ireland,he did not care what his score was and at 99 went for abig one and got out.Thats what spirit is all about. With all due respect to Sachin as one of the best i am just saying he should not be over cautious while approaching a century and throw his wicket away in powerplays after acheiving his century....try and play his natural game in powerplays as well.
