dhoni

Dhoni is having severe piless, limiting his game and captaincy. Players are taking credit away from him. There is nothing to give credit to dhoni, so he is complaining of playing the game for gallery. He don't to deserved to international game before the crowd, let him go and play in street

absolutely correct, das. look at tendulkar even after suffering from severe piles sachin gets out hitting a bad shot in the powerplay. and dhoni cannot even do that...he tries so hard to lose his wicket but it seems the opposition bowlers are simply not good enough....well at least they have made a beginning...now they are able to get sachin out...soon they will succeed in taking dhoni's wicket also...

hehehe... even I can sit on the non striking end like forever and will remain not out till the end, watching others getting out at strikers end! You don't need skill to do that.

He was supposed to make runs, not to give strike to our great batsman Nehra on first ball of over!

pride goes after a fall and dhoni is king of pride
by Sandeeps on Mar 14, 2011 12:48 PM

this loss of india against SA is simply bcos of lackof planning and execution at time required.dhoni needs to communicate to players instead of blaming them after the play.dhonis batting changes and bowling changes are always his own decissions rather than rational and practical thinking. he should have definitely played sreesanth atleast for his sheer pace which is far better than nehra.sree will definitly get hit but he is sure wicket taking bowler.i think dhoni should first be a role model for his team by winning matches for team rather than using wonderful analysis after the match.he cannot continue to bein the team bcos of his old glory which every cricketer will have at some point of their career.;

replace players please
by g singh on Mar 14, 2011 11:59 AM

i dont understand why players like Nehra, Munaf, Bhajji in the team. they are far experience bowlers to stop the flow of the runs as well as to give breakthrough. having played for more than 100 matches this is how the bowlers respond in the crucial time. sack these players and the wrong attitude will changed to good one. team India recently told that they want to win world cup 2011 for Sachin, these kind of performance will never win you a single match then forget about winning the World cup. Team India is respected, only for Sachin. without Sachin everybody r fail.
India should have a geniune all rounder right at this moment. Replace Ishant Sharma for Munaf, Irfan Pathan for Ashish Nehra, and Ravindran Ashwin for bhajji, bhajji shoul not be in Playing 11. Make them injury and replace fitter players please otherwise India will fail to qualify for Semis also. Jaago Selectors.

Changes for Team India
by Shahid on Mar 14, 2011 11:23 AM  | Hide replies

Bring in Raina for Kohli, Sreeshant for Nehra.

Now Team would be:
1. Sehwag
2. Sachin
3. Gambhir
4. Dhoni
5. Raina
6. Yousuf
7. Yuvraj
8. Harbhajan
9. Zaheer
10.Sreeshant
11.Munaf

It is better to give chance to Aswin instead of Harbhajan for the next WestIndies match in Chennai.

Who can bowl at the death with Zaheer?
by Another Critic on Mar 14, 2011 11:14 AM  | Hide replies

Bowling at the death requires yorkers and slow deliveries with good control.

India had already used Chawla, Munaf and Nehra and burnt itself badly.

Who can bowl at the death with Zak?
Bhajji?
Sreesanth?
Ashwin?

I think Sree should be given another chance before quarter finals. However, I think Ashwin will play against WI in front of his home crowd in Chennai.

Even zak got taken to cleaners in one over towards the end. So one can make all these guesses after the match. But on the ground, making that decision is the key. And some days you are going to get it right. If we dont have scope for that error, then we will never have good leaders.

setu, i am amazed that you give credit to dhoni for match fixing. he is a kid in front of sachin. please dont belittle sachin in this way. sachin has experience of more than 2 decades and 6 world cups. dhoni is like a baccha in front of sachin. he could not even manage to get out in yesterdays match. sachin got out easily because he is much more experienced. for that shot he collected a cool 32 crores. dhoni may be has earned a few rupees in match fixing but sahcin is worth trillions of dollars earned in 20 years and he has invested wisely also and has bought many palaces in all major cities of india and world over....

tendy , the shameless fixed matches ,by scoring centuries unlike Dhjobi who scored a brilliant 21 ball 12

:) Well said... Sachin got out "easily".... Dhoni - on the other hand - scored 350 runs by taking singles off the first ball of the over and leaving the hard work to the "tail enders"... :)

Dhoni is mentally retarded
by Sachin Joshi on Mar 14, 2011 11:00 AM  | Hide replies

He saved Harbhajan's overs for the last and then didn't bowl him. Harbhajan could have bowled either the 48th or 50th over. India most likely would have won in that case. 48th over bowled by Munaf cost 14 runs and everyone saw Nehra's stupid bowling in the last over. Also South African tailenders are notoriously jittery against spin bowling. Commentators rightly mentioned that Peterson would be very happy to see Nehra bowl last over. It was Dhoni's stupid captaincy that cost India this match. Even in England game, Dhoni's field placings were not aggressive. Gambhir should be made captain.

lol. If he had used bhajji and bhajji was taken for runs, you would turn around and say why did he not use nehra as pace is better. You guys just want to blame. As a captain and based on his judgment of Nehra, he made a choice. It turned out to be flop. That is something that happens in leadership. You cant escape it. Just like handing over super over to ashwin. But unlike flimsy fans, he did not lose confidence in ashwin and ashwin was one of the key factors in that CL victory. Either leave it to the guy who is selected to lead or you go take over and demonstrate. Easy to sit back and comment once the match is over.

Buddy, if Harbhajan had lost it for india, it would still have been the best decision. He is the second best bowler india has at the moment after zaheer. If he had failed then India deserved to loose. Sometimes it's tough to choose but in this case it was only one choice and that was Harbhajan. In professional life one can not go by whims or fancies.

Dhoni's politics
by Neetiman Kumar on Mar 14, 2011 10:46 AM  | Hide replies

The cool, competitive and innovative Dhoni is the ‘Past’. He is now playing cheap politics, even during this important period and only he can say why he does it.
Ashwin is Chairman Srikant’s candidate, hence Dhoni is deliberately keeping him out and try to promote his ‘chocolate’ wonder Chawla.
What he did to Sreesant is even worse. In South Africa, an aggressive Sreesant rattled Kallis with a bouncer and got his wicket. He unsettled Smith with a verbal warfare and got his wicket. But the Captain goes public against his own bowler in the press briefing.
In the first match, he did not tell Sreesant he will be playing it till the start of the play. Then, totally unexpected, he was given the new ball. Excited as he was, Sreesant could not control the ball and leaked runs in the four overs he bowled. End of the story. Now nobody can point fingers at Dhoni for neglecting this bowler, who otherwise would have been a handful against the South Africans. He would have taken wickets, at least to contain his suppressed fury. But Dhoni exactly doesn’t want that.
He has the nerve to criticize his batters, after badly shuffling the order, while he could not make the bowlers understand to stay at the wicket and did not have guts to face as many balls of Steyn & Co as possible, to save the match.
Now let us see what he will come up with.
