Feel sorry for new players
by India on Jun 29, 2011 12:21 PM  | Hide replies

No more practice matches these days to get acclamatised to the pitches of West Indies. This is very dfficult for new batsmen like Mukund, Vijay and Kohli who are playing for first time in West Indies. It is no surprise they got out for such low scores or without scoring.

Dont decide based on one series
by srinivas on Jun 29, 2011 12:20 PM  | Hide replies

why to blame selectors

in tests vijay has an avg of 35 in 10 matches with 1 century and 2 50s

is that not enough for a back up opener?

dont just decide based on 1 series

remember even laxman failed in first test and dravid in second

For mukund it ok.
But what about dhoni.?
He has failed in all 6 series he played outside india why he is still continuing in test overseas.

U will not do it beacuse ur mind is preconceived.
Player like dhoni is burden for any team. Its only fans like u who make even zero dhoni to hero

true players like sachin, dravid, laxman, ganguly, gambhir, sehwag are all people who dont have any brain and their minds are preconceived thats why they are all praise for dhoni who 'is a burdern for any team'. he he he sachin in fact is supposed to have recommended dhoni's name for captaincy...

idiot ashishkumar knows more than sachin, gambhir, sehwag, dravid, laxman ganguly who always have praised and admired dhoni's batting captaincy and wicket keepting...

by ASHISH KUMAR on Jun 29, 2011 12:19 PM  | Hide replies

make any one captain- gambhir, raina, parthiv patel or tom/dick/harry.
it doesn't matter.
Captain has to earn his place as a player first in any format of game. No where in world captain can continue in team in name of captaincy if he is not scoring.
See case of collingwood. he was capatin of 2010 T-20 world cup winning team of england. But now he is dropped. Simple he was not batting well.
this captaincy hype works only in india due to fanatic media & regional fans with political mindset

M Vijay
by nice guy on Jun 29, 2011 12:06 PM  | Hide replies

Showed some class during his debut test against Aus and later.

Things were looking gud for him. He was able to gel with likes of Viru. But suddenly came this IPL..and all of sudden he became Overnight star in this Club game.

Obviously, his adaptability changed and when he returned to the longer version, he cud not continue because of his stint at the shorter version. If he forgets that IPL and start thinking as a test player, he may succeed.

Much to blame selectors!

Abinav Mukund
by srinivas on Jun 29, 2011 11:47 AM  | Hide replies

Mukund has a solid domestci record

he has scored 3800 runs at avg of 58 in First class
and has scored 1500 runs at avg of 57 in List A

he is left handed so a good back up for ghambhir

he is not selected for no reason.

Then where does his experience go now?

WI is not a strong team..and pitches are not bouncy always. He could show his experience here.

See, Its not always records and stats, Its the Adaptability and Attitude that matters.

A.Rahane average is 67.72 in 48 matches. 17 hundreds and 18 fifties which shows how frequently he converts 50 in 100. The best thing is his SR which is above 60.

Suggest a Suitable Replacement for Sehwag & for 7th s
by nagendra naidu on Jun 29, 2011 11:42 AM  | Hide replies

It is very difficult to find a suitable replacement for Sehwag
and for the 7th Position(all rounder),
For opening spot:
ParthivPatel,
PaulValthathy,
MuraliVijay,
RvUthappa,
SDhawan,
Man ishPandy,
ARahane.

For 7th spot:
YkPathan,
IkPathan,
RJadeja,
PaulValthathy,

But we have an excellent replacements for Sachin,Dravid,Laxman.
