I think forgot that Shewag, Gambhir, Sachin are part of regular indian line up who can bat on 5th day spinning track..esp Shewag & Gambhir. Also current team most of them are starting their career and playing for the first time in WI. They need to adjust to bounce.
Bullshit of an article. India should have won comprehensively had Harper called the ddecisions right. West Indies were no way in the match, especially after captain Sammy dropped the catch. India won the match comfortably, however positives for India is Dravid is in good form, so is Praveen, and negatives are the Openers need to pull their socks up, (considering the openings for the opener slot is reserved) and harbhajan and mishra should try to attack from the front. West Indies need to include Gayle else the series is whitewashed.
Interesting analysis by Ian Bishop. It is agreed Dhoni's decision to bat first was a wrong decision considering the composition of the Indian side which consisted of new opening pair and seniors coming back after long lay offs.As usual luck favoured Dhoni and survived the initial batting collapse. But still it is the WI batting more than their bowling which let down the team.In fact WI bowling overall was just better compared to the Indians' however it is the somewhat rag tag combination looking WI batting which is cause for concern.Yes, Indian spinners need to improve their effectiveness but the fact remains the WI batting can hardly be recognized as an international TEST batting line up.

Yes, Damodaran is 100 percent correct.
Yes, spinners also can get India wickets but for few matches only. Once new spin bowler become familiar then useless . You have to keep finding new spinner vs india. Initially medis got wickets from India but now hardly can stop runs.
Gone are the days when indian batsman were used to play very good against spinner. Youngsters are more comfortable against pace attack thats the reason we are performing well all over the world.
