tendulkar had great flat bat horizontal timing against KKR to make the spin useless. he was unstoppable.
that was Until kallis pushed a rising ball onto tendulkar body.
In first test match against WI, the ball was rising (dhoni) or staying low, thus proper timed flat bat was needed for both short-pitches and flighted balls.
baseball players even play 100 miles/hr fast yorker balls using flat bat.
Ian is right. No:1 status should be forgotten.Play to the potential and the new faces must take this opportunity to be conspicuous by action and not name. The experieced must 'lead from front'. One dravid wont be enough. All said Good Luck!
A good spinner can definitely make Indian batsmen struggle. But once they get used to his style of bowling they will negotiate him without any trouble. For eg. Mendis was considered absolutely unplayable initially but soon our batsmen started picking him. They played him so well that the Sri Lankans were scared to select him in the squad for World Cup Final. As far as this series goes I dont see Windies winning it. They might pull out a draw or a win in one match because this is not a full strength Indian side but eventually our team will emerge victorious because they know how to win. Champions have the ability to emerge victorious even if they are not playing very well unlike teams like West Indies who lose a match even after playing to the best of their ability

but what's the use if a good spinner struggle later on,if he is a good spinner he should always dominate our indian batsmens, see the stats of two legendary bowlers warne and murli even they struggled against us,they were legends yet struggled so nothing to say abt kids like mendis and bishoo.
point is ian bishop is wrong, fact is spinners do always struggle against the indian batsmens
