by Raj India on Jun 24, 2011 10:25 AM  | Hide replies

The Govt had exempted customs duty for the ferrai sachin has got and now Sachin is selling the car... Is it for buying ration??? Y our govt is doing such discrimination? Still Sachin is earning crores and crores from ads and from IPL and taking rest from international series'... Is it his duty to the nation? Sorry to Sachin fans (i was also a sachin fan before, not now)...

I am sure he would not have sold it like this if duty was not paid. The duty was indeed paid in full. A amount in excess of 1 cr was paid for a car which cost him 0/- to a government which likes to loot it for its own purposes.

The import duty was indeed paid. Fiat paid it. So your allegation is not factually correct. SRT never said he won't pay, Jaswant Singh wrote that it is waived by Govt.

Who told? SRT has requested for that.... Only after his request, it was weaved off by Govt. There was protest against this at that time, u know? Now itself, he is acting in advertisement and for avoiding tax, he has requested that he is an actor...

I don't know how you came to know that SRT requested for waivering the import duty unless you are privy to some special reports. I followed the news then. In late July he was invited to the British Grand Prix and gifted the Ferrari (which was marketing stunt by Fiat as it wanted to generate some momentum to its car mrket in India). Apparently it was to mark the 29th 100 that SRT had recently posted equalling the Don. He wrote back and this was reported, asking the procedures for taking the car to India because he was not sure whehter it would be exempted. First BJP declared, to earn brownies, off course, that he need not pay anything. Then in one of the media reports it was pointed that he should because it is a gift and not a prize. Late Aug (or early Sep) Jaswant Singh declared that Govt will pay the import duty. Then BJP changed the rules in Feb and passed it in May next year. Only after this the PIL were fired. Fiat didn't want it go that far, what was a positive news was fast becoming a negative coverage for them and they paid the import duty.

In all these there were no reports that claimed that SRT had anything to do with the request for waivering. It was mostly BJP's doing because they wanted to show, perhaps a political stunt, respect to SRT's feat. Obviously I haven't read the correspondence between SRT and gov in this matter so all these are based only on what came out in the papers.

I guess ferrari can catch a speed of 200kmph.
What Sachin will do with such a vehicle in Mumbai where one can not drive more than 30kmph.

Here people can barely drive more than 30kmph.
In Dadar it is around 20kmph.

(If one travels 15 km in Mumbai, let us say from Borivali to Worli, it takes 1Hr minimum = 15kmph)

England will destroy this team badly..looking forward to
by Manish Kulkarni on Jun 24, 2011 07:47 AM

Real series. Indian cricket is now all about bogus criket, scams like IPL, T20 and even one day crap expose kids like Kohli and other one day punters badly when it comes to bouncy pitches, bouncers. Kohli was blowing kisses while getting killed by bouncers, he was badly exposed and won't survive test cricket. Lot of these guys are used to flat pitches, playing on dead pitches. Tremlet, Anderson and Broad gonna reall beat these guys, It's all up to Sachin, Dravid and to some extent Laxman who has rested too much and it was very clear..Sehwag will be disaster in that series because he now gets out quickly , trying to hit every ball does not help. Gambhir is the only fighter and will grind it out, Dhoni is overhyped when it comes to batting, he is getting worse in every test match. He is riding the work done by other guys. Yuvraj is flat pitch master..I would not be shocked to see India lose the series, with the kind of lousy bowling attack, Bhajii is looking hopeless, so he is now focusing on batting..It's only Zahir, Ishant is crap, he was great in the first series again Aussies, after that it's all downhill..India number #1 tag is joke and they are #1 because lot of matches have been played in India..watch out for whitewash, India will desperately try to look for drwas, forget winning. They just don't have bowlers to take 20 wickets. England batting is so strong now..in fact Pravin Kumar may be a better choice that loser Shrishant because he is true seam bowler..watch ou

4. Sachin is a religious man. The money he saved will be used for good causes only. For orphanages etc…

This is great proposition. Be religious, and make money through all fraudulent ways. Then from this donate a certain sum to religious leaders, institutions etc…. This makes great economics make 50 crore by fraud and donate 1 crore to purify the sins. What an Idea? You don’t have to make any amends in your life. Just keep on looting others, but pay a commission to God. Religious leaders, who don’t question your deeds on how you made the money, are much revered. By this way all can stay clear of any guilty consciousness from looting others, after all a commission had been paid to God. But does God need this kind of commission made through fraudulent ways. Or is someone else in the name of religion and spirituality, looting the fraudsters themselves.

5. Still somebody from the poor got the operation/treatment done, which otherwise not possible

Yes this is a good thing. But those who are donating from fraud money must consider that much less money only you looted. Money donated still is not your money. Someone else some where had paid for it. Fact is you may be donating, still fraud is fraud. Yes but amount of fraud becomes a little lighter.

6. Now can giving money to poor, for good causes be equated to Robin Hood?

But Robin Hood is known for, robbing from the rich and giving to the poor. How can Sachin evading paying

1. Politicians are looting the country, and evade paying taxes, so Sachin misrepresenting facts is justifiable.

Well if that is the case, what is difference between Sachin and the corrupt politicians?

2. Every body is looting the country, so why not Sachin save some of his hard earned money.

Is Sachin alone making hard earned money? What are others making; soft earned money? Many are looting the country, but didn’t picture Sachin among them

3. Anyone who is criticizing him also would have made this claim, if in his place.

That certainly would apply to those who are commenting this, but not all. Why should anyone? After making this much money all in the name of cricket, make such a blatant lie, that he is primarily an actor. Well we all know him as a legendary cricketer, and are debating whether him or Don Bradman is the greatest. So it certainly breaks our heart to hear him say he is a model. His millions of fans mean anything to him? Can the 2 crore rupees that he saved by publicly stating a lie, worth it?

Does Sachin have any Self respect*?

Here greed has taken over him. Money is now above all for him. Doing anything if it results in making money is ok for him. We can understand a common man making a fraudulent claim for income tax breaks, but not a millionaire like Sachin. How much money will be enough for you Sachin?.
