Notable achievements of Indian cricket that come to my mind till now
1983 world cup, 1985 Bensen & hedgeg cup, Titan cup,Hero cup, 96 SF,Sharjah cup,
Natwest trophy, 2003 Finals,T20 World cup,CB Series,No1 Test status.
Except for No1 status, most countries have similar achievements.

But then we have 'SACHIN'.The best bastman ever(Only Bradman can contest).
Most of his records will stay alive forever(If you are cricket fanatic,
then u will know that most of them are impossible to break).A poll in
australia twice this decade said Sachin is the current best player.Ponting
was no-where near in those polls. Current and ex-crickets, commenattors,
coaches, umpires and everyone alround the world praise him as the best.
That makes me an Indian proud. He is like Dhanychand of Cricket.
He is like a Schumacher ,a Pele, a federer, a Tiger woods.
50 years from now, Indian cricket might become like our Hockey.
Usa, Canada,Ireland,Afghanisthan might be top 4 teams.Your Grand children
might not follow cricket, but they sure will be surprised and happy to hear
that the best player, holder or most runs, centuries is an INDIAN.
He is a phenomenon that happend once in a life time.
I cherish a century from Sachin more than an Indian victory.
This is the reason why.
u should know that out of his 50 centuries, 20 centuries helped in winnig the games and 20 centuries helped in draw and 10 CENTURIES HELPED INDIA TO LOSE THE GAME BY BIG MARGIN.
If you jst want to go

Dhobhiji might be an ordinary player, but he plays very well considering his limitations.

He is above average wicketkeeper batsman and a good captain ( on field) . What else can we ask for ?

His team selection might be a suspect, but why bother as long as we are winning

by nice guy on Jun 21, 2011 11:45 AM  | Hide replies

Harbhajan batting to save the game..
Even if he had scored 100, still he need to get 3 wkts in each innings as he is the most experienced bowler now.
So, Still his place in the side is questionable if he fails to pick wickets.
Getting 1 or 2 in a match doesnt require a place for him.

Gary Kirsten about Dhoni....
by Anurag Rathore on Jun 21, 2011 11:35 AM  | Hide replies

“I remember before the final that we had been floating him at No 5 or 6 in the batting order and Yuvraj was batting at No 4. Every now and then, I would walk up to him and ask whether we want to do any rotations? We had Randiv (Lankan spinner) bowling and it was tough for the left-handers. So, I just went up to him and said ‘MS why don’t you go in now’. And he said ‘I don’t know’ and he walked away.

“If he had made a call, I would always leave him with that. The next thing I turn around and I see he has had his pads on. I asked him what’s happening and he said ‘I am in next,’” Kirsten revealed.

“And I knew straight away that he was going to win the World Cup for us. Because that’s the individual he is. He has this x-factor and walks around with his presence.”

When we are discissing about test- some one divert topic to ODI.Thats the nature of all political minded fans of dhoni. Manipulative/political in nature.
Kristen said great things about so many other players & not only dhobijo who clicks only once in blue moon.
Also no need to sing bhajan of final inning for next 10 yrs.
Lets talk about present & 100 of failures in past.

Always refered them as biggest match winner .
Those big player can't be compared with ordinary dhoni who was failure for 20 consecutive matches even in ODI before final.
Test & T-20 intnl- its better not to talk about dhoni recorsd- just check- its patetic

For Anurag rathore plaese-

You were seen conversing with Sachin Tendulkar, too, among many others. How do you rate him as a batsman?
Who am I to say anything about him? The whole world knows about him, his cricket and his feats. He is a role model for youngsters, not just for aspiring sportsmen. It is difficult to describe his batting. God has sent him on a mission on Planet Earth only for cricket. Yes, it has always been a great pleasure talking to him. He is so humble

Wicketkeeper batsman
by ASHISH KUMAR on Jun 21, 2011 11:30 AM  | Hide replies

Sangarkar (a wicketkeeper batsman)scored a century & save SLK from test defeat in tough condition of england against good bowling attack. It is his 21 st century & played many in past helping SLK to win or save the test.
England wicketkeeper Mat prior played great inning in 1st test which england won. In ashes also he scored a great century under pressure to help englnad win. he has played many good test inning against quality bowling which infleunced result of test match.
Gilcrist had done it many times in past. So does many other wicketkeeper batsman including Mclumn.
But great dhobiji has never played a match winning/saving test inning on overseas pitches in his entire career. He start dancing on bouncing pitch if bowling quality is good.
He is no match to even good wicketkeeper batsman of other good teams. Forget about comapring him with world best batsman.
All his runs on subcontinent pitches & against weak bowling attcak.
Even kartik/patel far superior than dhoni on oveseas pitches.
He maintan his avg by playing few not out innings, manipulating his batting position & palying one good knock in a year on flat pitch.
Real lucky guy who takes credit of remaining 10 players.

ODi series & weak bowling attacj of WI- wahts great.
Even Rohit sharma is MOS this year. Why he is not picked for test.
Rohit sharma is far superior to dhoni as a batsman.
I am talking about test & this dhobji chmcha diverting discussion to ODI.
Please accept the fact dhobiji doesn't ahve talent to win or save test in overseas pitch against quality bowling .

Dhoni has never been MOS in test series in his entire career. It is beyond his capibility. This ODi series also MOS because B grade WI playing & India won by luck.
India win series 2-1. Last ODI was washed out when india was in bad condition.
I bet I will stop watching cricket if dhoni become MOS in any test series or even MOS in ODI series in england/SA/Aus etc.
It is beyond his capability

But he hit 20 centuries before as a wicketkeeper.
Mat prior & gilly also played great inning when wicketkeeper & batting at no. 7 only

He has just 7 centuries as wicketkeeper in test format with average of 40 which is equal to Dhoni. The difference is Dhoni play at 7 while he is in top order.

How many century dhoni has made overseas & which resulted in India win or save the test.
If sangarkara play at top order it is because of his ability to face quality bowling. No team will promote dhoni to top order as he can't face quality bowling. Gilly & prior batting at 6/7 only but much better than dhoni

Player like sanga can get selected in team just as a batsman on merit.
Dhoni will never get a place even club level team as a batsman alone if he is not a wicketkeeper.
Even parthiv patel can get place as a batsman but not dhoni.
For god sake don't comapre world class batsman sangrkara with ordinary batsman dhoni

I am talking about match winning/saving inning agaisnt quality attack on overseas (not necessarily century).
Has dhobiji done any time?
laxman has won or saved few test with tailenders also.
So stop repeating this n0.7 concept

Ashish

I am not a fan of Dhobhi, but to his credit his innings in the first test in England resulted in us winning the series.

it wasn't a century, jut 70-80 runs, but that earned us a draw and eventually we won the series 1-0
