bouncy wickets and great wicket keeping by WI
by D S on Jun 14, 2011 12:03 PM

munaf should not turn into spinner and this is where they R leading Ishant into by messing his run-up and style.

These Indian pace guys should choose how many overs they will do PURE PACE and how many over of slow and mediums pace. And to whom. BUT SHOULD NOT turn into slow spinners on wrong advise.

Andy Roberts

you hit the nail on the head. It has been a long fashion of conversion of genuine quicks into spin bowlers in India.

This was observed long ago , IRONICALLY by porkistani players/commentators like Rameez Raja and others.

Whats the probelm?

We won Worldcup with these fast spin bowlers.... Sreesant has the speed but what he did in WC.... So don't worry Mr. Robert. Before batsman was scared of fast bowling that why fast bowler was so sucsessful but now the batsman has big hearts to face fast bowling... Bolwer have to be tricky to get the wicket...

Chowdri ji, do you think these kids like Virat, Raina , Yusuf, Gambhir have the heart to face Curtly, Donald, Waqar , Wasim !! . Have you ever seen a genuine 5 day match? No wonder with followers like this cricket has become a tamasha.

andy roberts was one among the greats of the carribean-who had lethal pace, seam and bounce and the rare ability of bowling variety of balls in a single over=he's right-the modern day coach and support staff stifle the natural ability of budding fast bowlers-but the real problem lies in the respective cricket Boards failing to produce lively, bouncy and fast tracks in general-
The idiotic/hectic tour schedules framed by the backroom officials of respective cricket Boards-without considering the player's welfare-has ruined cricket-G.Muralidhar

Malinga is a classic example of throwing

Hi Roberts,

I think you agree with me that Malinga is a classic example of throwing the ball. Unfortunately, the bone-less ICC don't have the courage to ban him.

Forget the rules, any naked eye can easily tell he is chucking. Well, they couldn't do anything to Lee, Akhtar, Murali etc. So, this guy will also escape easily. Cricket is now a dirty game, just like BF.

I don't think so you have played cricket at competitive level! Malinga only bowls round arm. Akhtar use to check occasionally, so did Murali (got benefit due to some natural bend in his arm) and Lee.

Talking about rules...what do you think about walking if you feel you are out as opposed to the rule of leaving the pitch if the umpire gives you out??

This is the same with Malinga, he is definitely chucking, but within the rules as per the book

it is really a problem for india!!
by rrssassociates rrss on Jun 14, 2011 11:30 AM  | Hide replies

surprising that India is no.1 in all formats without a genuine fast bowler...Zak including..we do not hv a GFB... all bowl at 130 KM and bowlers like Praveen and vinay bowl slower than Harbhajan and Aswin sometimes... they sometimes take wkts becaz the batsman of other countries in general not not accustomed to batting a bowler at 100 KM ... bat movement is fast and ball comes slow and they get out.. mostly LBW or Wkt bowled.... really we hv lot of spinners and those who bowl spinners... verky sad... i wud like to see a tearaway pace bowler like Lee, Dale styn, Tait.

India is not no.1 in ODI. It is ranked 2. aus is no,1.
In t-20 india is ranked 6th out of 8.
india has lost 7 out of last 10 T-20 intnl they played.
India is ranked 1 only in test as so many great senior batsman like sachin, dravid, laxmna, sehwag still playing & then we had two worlnd class bowlers kumble & zaheer

Keep your wisdom to yourself. Some big city guys cannot digest the fact the small town guys are making it big and becoming heroes for the country
