Find Perspective
by aditya ch on Jun 04, 2011 12:20 PM  | Hide replies

Cricket is played by only a handful of countries, compared to many other sports (less fortunate sports in India) that are being played by many more countries.

This will put in perspective a champion in which sport(s) is a greater champion; and a champion in which sport(s) is a lesser champion.

A billion shouts can create a God out of someone, but a billion shouts cannot change the facts.

SRT is one shrewd guy
by Stupid Idiot on Jun 04, 2011 12:09 PM  | Hide replies

Is not he the same guy who conspired to keep Rahul Dravid out of team because Pepsi hired Rahul at lesser price than to hire SRT at the price he was asking... thus causing SRT 'big loss' at that time.

Dravid could enter properly only when Ganguly insisted.

SRT ignored Rahul after RR team beat MI in last match and if you don't believe watch the very end of that match on youtbe.

and see how he avoids Dravid and does not even shake hands with him.

Shrewd he is. And selfish he is. That is obvious to the careful observer. Fans love this projected image so much that they think he is some pure thing.

If my name tells something, then your name tell a lot about you Ms. R.A.N.D.Y . as in R.A.N.D.Y. .B.A.Z.A.A.R..

You focused on my name, focused on comment about handshake but missed the main point..

That is, SRT conspired with Mumbai-heavy selection panel of that time to keep Rdravid out of the team.

Reason: SRT asked Pepsi 80 lac for summer campaign… they offered 60, 20 more than his previous season’s rate. SRT did not budge. Pepsi signed and shot campaign with Dravid who was given 40 lac…

That infuriated SRT who said, he suffered a hit of 80 lac because of Dravid and that was a big sum in those pre-boom days of cricket.

Rediff is smart
by Randy Orton on Jun 04, 2011 11:47 AM

So it seems that Rediff has found a secret formula to draw hundereds of comments from its visitors.
JUST PUBBLISH A POST REGARDING SRT & WATCH ITS READERS GO BONKERS.
Friends take it easy. Try & understand why Rediff/Sify keep posting stuff related to SRT, Modi, SRK, Pakistan. Coz they are sure blockbusters every day. Just get around it & let Rediff writers think the necessity of coming up with some authentic stuff like Cricinfo does!

SACHIN TENDULKAR - THE GREATEST SPORTSMAN [ALL TIME]
by prajyoth pradeep on Jun 04, 2011 10:40 AM  | Hide replies

Sachin Tendulkar is the greatest sports-person across all sport of all times. Not only because he has played this sport for twenty years in top flight across different conditions and players and eras wearing body gear like pads and guards (imagine playing like that in other sports day in day out for 20 plus long years) but also because of the person that he is.
Also remember he has played under the pressure of our Bakwas media.

All that being true, there does come a time when even that person needs to pass the baton to the next generation. That is the bigger picture.

What about the comment from MSD where he stated that playing 10 tests alongside SRT is like playing 50. Understand the fact that there is so much SRT brings to the squad, not only on the field but off the field as well. Aussies, Brits & others dont respect him for nothing!

Again back to the same point. I dont have any issues with all that. But all such people have to retire in the end to make sure the future and bigger picture of indian cricket is secure. In the midst of your hero worship, you fail to see that.

only chance
by Graham Bell on Jun 04, 2011 08:10 AM

sachin knows very well that this is his only chance to create records that noone can ever break in cricket.. including looong playing player in the history of cricket.. i dont know whos behind this.. someone's telling him to keep going.. i think he will play for another 5 years.. make more runs.. centuries.... i really dont know why hes needed in the national team when someone else can do the same job what he does.. with ease and speed.. (fresh legs).. unless our national team has corporate policies like.. long service award.. or permanent team member.. can go on voluntary retirm if he wishes... what value is he adding to the team?? if hes a mentor.. coach.. why do we need a coach in indian team??

Sachin make as much money as possible.. as many records as possible.. because cricket is your life.. did u mean "there is no indian life for u without cricket".. i think you can be a better coach.. motivator not only in cricket in any sport
