How fast does Praveen Kumar bowl?
by NashikMarathi on Aug 01, 2011 12:55 AM  | Hide replies

Most of the time his speed seemed awe-inspiring as in less that 120 kmph.

He is a true new ball bowler. A real find for India.

He should not be used as a new ball bowler but as a swing bowler but unfortunately the other two new ball bowler lack control over their bowling while Praveen Kumar has great control. He was unlucky that Bresnan and Trott were not given LBW while he was bowling with new ball.

Another 4th Innings for Sachin
by Akshat Saxena on Aug 01, 2011 12:44 AM  | Hide replies

BCCI should use its influence and make ICC bend rules for Sachin. Instead of Batting in 2nd innings he should be given 2 chances in 1st innings, so that there is no pressure on him and he can score his 100th Century. My feeling is that he will score a century and India will loose as usual and all our Media will go crazy over SRT. It happens only in India.

well. Dravid has scored two centuries in this series so far. We lost the first test and looks like we will lose this one also.

So, whats your point?

First of all thanks for a wonderful question. If you are try to compare SRT with Dravid, then there is no comparison, in Lord's 2nd Innings Sachin tried to become Dravid and every one knows what happened. Coming to your question about Dravid scoring 2 centuries, you are missing in what conditions and situation. Thats where he stands miles away from any Indian Batsmen.

but in the end, if India loses what's the use?

This has been a constant accusation on Sachin. That Sachin's centuries dont help India at all.

Hasn't it been the case for Dravid too, in this series?

Wow you don't give up. So out of Dravid's 34 Centuries, India has only lost 2 times including lords test. That speaks volume of his effort. So now you want to compare Dravid's 2 matches with Sachin's Entire Career. How low can you stoop?

I am just saying in this series, Dravid's contribution has not been useful. May be he too is getting selfish.

2nd Test, 1st innings batted whole day with number 1 to number 10 ... Selfish.

1st Test - Made sure India avoid follow on ... Selfish.

well, the centuries didn't help. India lost the 1st test match and might lose the 2nd one too.

Doesn't that make him selfish? Looks like he is only playing for personal records.

Buddy I give up, its hard to argue when some one is not ready to see anything beyond their own point. Dravid got a century in 1st match and helped avoid follow on, 2nd Match played for 6 sessions. By your your yard stick everyone is selfish !!. Any one who knows and follows cricket can't say enough about Dravid. You are the 1st person I have seen calling Dravid Selfish

Dravid should have scored at least 3 centuries to compensate for the 5 catches he dropped and the one of Kevin that allowed him to score 200 and make India lose the game. cheers

@Akshat: People should not stick on to past glory. Wasnt this what most of the so called "experts" said about sachin, sehwag and zaheer khan all these days? same applies to dravid. though i like dravid as much as i like other players in our team, i dont like the double standards u people do. u people accuse that sachin's centuries dont help in winning causes. u dont see the rest 10 people failing on that day. when 10 fail and 1 person clicks, he is called a hero. Thank you.

@PO If past glory is the case, in that scenario Sachin is perfect example, every one keeps talking about his 2010 scores. People like Talk about Sachin because People like you and Media don't see other 10 players. If Dravid has scored 3 centuries in last 5 matches, is that Past glory? Wow simply WOW

Two centuries from the middle and top order would save the match for India no matter who scores it. If Mukund wants to play another series, he should score.

;) Good one...!!!
May be...the BCCi should also use its influence to ban Stuart Broad, Anderson, Bresnan etc. from bowling to Tendulkar. And even if they are allowed to bowl, they should be penalised if they get Sachin out.

Lets hope Rahul Dravid scores Double century and VVS scores atleast a century. And that they both stay out there atleast 10 hrs. each in the 2nd inning..

If that happens, India will win or draw this test.

The other batsmen are really not worth a dime and Dhoni and tail doesn't even know how to bat in Engalnd..

Parthiv had 147 runs scored for ODIs in West Indies with the average of 29 (ahead of Raina even) and 6 catches and 5 stumpings in just 5 matches.

I think DHoni should do it.. just to show these fans that he respects their ideas.. and give this so called "youth" a chance to showcase their talent against worthless England team whose bowlers only know how to ball hatrick balls!!!
