Pathetic Indian Commentators
by Narayanan Sangameswaran on Jul 26, 2011 10:04 PM  | Hide replies

It is unbelieveably stupid, worthless and biased that the commentaries of Saurav Ganguly and Shastri's are. The match was lost because Zaher was injured and Harbajan was worthless. Did the team already knew if Zaher was half-fit even before the start of the match? Looks like there is a buddy-system going around with the Indian team who will back each other even if they dont deserve to be in the team and these stupid commentators will back them up too.

you said it.The way Saurav said that Eng cannot take 20 Indian wickets in Test just when India were 60 for no loss in 1st inn sums it up.
Just cannot stand these fools

I am not blaming the commentators for the defeat. It happens and will happen. But the way these stupid commentators dismiss the strength of the English players and defends the losers is pathetic.

It was just not commentators who were saying the same thing, but also other experts (who have played cricket for national team) had the same view. Yes Zaheer should have know that he was unfit but he took a chance, you can only do so much test to make sure that the individual is ok, but it is also upto the player. Also it was a flat pitch the ball was not spinning, all these pitches are for fast ball, you cannot blame the spinners for it.

Yes, even the experts say this. but the standard of commentary has become so low that some day, even they will allow rakhi sawant and ask her to do commentary. By the way, what is Ganguly's status in commentary? If knowing English was the pre-requisite for a position of commentator, even Digvijay Singh would be in the commentary box. People like Arun Lal and Ganguly are disgraces to Indians and the commentary box!

Indian media

Does Indian media highlight the fact that Sachin and Raina were plumb lbw to Broady and not given by Bowden?
England needed to take 23 Indian wickets rather than 20 to win .
but only when it is against you that Indian media barks

Well catches do drop but my only point is bad umpiring goes not only against India but other teams as well the media should just not make that India are always a victim of umpiring mistakes

Rankings do not matter
by Aryan on Jul 26, 2011 09:43 PM  | Hide replies

India will always find it difficult to beat Eng, Aus or SA on their soils.
These rankings r all a result of playing against lower quality opposition on the dust bowls in the subcontinent.

Also the only batsman worthy of praise in the Indian team in Rahul Dravid. He is the only guy who can face top quality pace bowling on bowler friendly wickets. Rest all are flat track bullies.

i have rarely seen dravid open batting in tests. its only when any opener gets injured that he has to open. same with keeping wickets.

anyways when he is ready to open or don the keeper gloves keeping in mind the interest of the nation, who r u to decide what he should be or should not be doing???
You r anyways not concerned with Indian cricket.. then have a bit of self respect and stay away from commenting.

Did you know he was forced to open in first 2 tests of aus tour so that they could accomodate Yuvraj who(i.e yuvraj) then flopped miserably?
to get team balance right he was asked to keep wickets.
check your facts before commentating .
Has any other Indian player ever made such sacrifices or moved out of his comfort zone?
I always have the highest respect for that perfect gentleman Rahul Dravid
I can comment you cannot stop me

Perfect Gentleman??...ya, he let Gruugh Chappell run over him and his boyz as a captain!
Yes, he was good with bat in this test, but what about dropping catches which is continuing for last few years...that cost India dearly in this test!
And BTW, he didnt do anybody any favor by keeping wickets, that he did to protect his place in the team since as purely a batsman he is a liability in ODIs.

India will be whitewashed
by Prasad on Jul 26, 2011 09:29 PM  | Hide replies

India's bowling department is in shambles. Zaheer cannot play two test on the trot. Ishant is good in patches. pravin Kumar is too slow to trouble the strong English line-up. Sreesanth refuses to grow up. Bhajji has become just predictable.
In a couple of years, the batting line up also is going to go the way of the bowling line-up. Once the four-some Sachin, Dravid, Lakshman and Sehwag retire, who is going to be in the test team. It is now 4 years since Dada retired and not one batsman has been able to take his place on a permanent basis. Yuvraj Singh with his princely feignings is not fit for test cricket. Raina is doing well but he has a long way to go. Kohli & Rohit Sharma proved to be too inconsistent.

India might continue to be good in the limited over versions but this does not seem to be the case with test matches.

On the contrary, England is a solid young side, which is threatening to rules the world of test cricket during the next decade.

To be really no. one, India need to wind test series in England, Australia and S.Africa. but thsi appears to be a very tall order.

Dhoni will not allow quality players to be in his team like Vijay(spotted by Ganguly)Mr.Cricket of India Badri, Mukund,Karthik,Ashwin Since they are from Tamilnadu. The above five can replace the famed provided they are given chances continuously for 10 tests & always in the 15 players list.

Indians' Rankings
by A Singh on Jul 26, 2011 09:23 PM

Indians have dropped in rankings not because India lost.
It seems the Indians are not just oblivious to the Team's rankings, they hardly bother about their own!
What is the status of IPL rankings by the way? Our Heroes may be more worried about those.

To be really no. 1, India needs to win test series in England, Australia and S.Africa. This is unliekly. The no. 1 position is owing to playing mores test matches than other teams and playing most of the time on home soil on beningn pitches. The real test has no begun for India ... in away series.

Injuries are self-caused. Playing too much of this gibberish called IPL. While our boys were busy playing IPL and making tons of money, the English team was busy plotting their defeat.
