The recent incident in the WI Test tour calls for some strict protocol between the players, coaches and the management.
Late declarations and calling matches off is something Dhoni and company needs to confer with the selectors over lunch and tea breaks.
I sure he has an explanation or two. But let us look at the tours in the 70 and 80s. India chased 400 in the fourth innings against the WI quicks with no helmets. You cannot call a match off because it was difficult to get runs.
In Test cricket it was never easy. Teams like WI and Pak are not as strong today but SA, Sri Lanka and Australia have stronger teams. So we cannot underestimate the level of competition.
Dhoni has relied on the seniors today and with Dravid already 39, he needs to build a team of his own. His choice of line and length bowlers like Ohja and Praveen is because WK is easier as compared to the erratic bowlers.
But he needs to introduce more strike capability, aggressive strategies and pro-active decisions
It's easy, very easy to make comments from the comfort of an arm chair. 3-0, Huhhh !!!. Was he sleeping while it was pouring out there. The second test was a near washout. The third test : Did Bedi fail to see the negative tactics employed by Bishoo (he may have been asked to bowled that way).
We've won the series. Period. Bedi should probably embark on a Vanaprastha Ashram, and stop making these (Un)Smart comments.

While I don't always agree with what Bedi says (he's too full of himself anyway), i do believe that we should have tried a different batting order and at least make a genuine attempt at winning, rather than playing safe. There was no way we would have been bowled out in 46 overs. This is what still prevents us from becoming a great team...right now we're just a good team!
Did Bedi ever have the killer instinct himself? Most of the critics are missing out on one point and that the West Indian bowlers resorted to negative bowling on the last day. Constantly bowling far outside the leg stump & off stump makes it difficult for even the best batsmen to score runs. The rules for Wide are obviously lenient in test matches
