indiahasjust wonatestseries outside the subcontinent without four of their starting XI. the last match slipped out of indias hands because of time lost due to rain.
instead of nitpicking like this celebrate the series win.

If you are so intelligent, why do you miss typing spaces where they are due? I am commenting on your English, as your message has nothing else worth commenting on.

It's common sense to play as per cricketing mafia...
by MHS on Jul 11, 2011 08:29 PM  | Hide replies

... nobody seems to be thinking of the dictat of match-fixing and betting mafia. And the team manager/coach/captain will have to give technical reasons for the money secretly made.

Why nobody? YOU ARE thinking about it. We all have our fantasies. Stories without the means to prove them :)

We are not just supposed to be the no. 1 team. We ARE the no. 1 team, in case you didn't notice. And why should we play like the Australians. They got so good that it got to their heads. Now where are they? Lets stay humble and keep our feet on ground.

We are not just the no. 1 team, we are also supposed to be the no. 1 team. And a team has to play like champions to be accepted as a champion team.
You must be aware that once upon a time, Dilip Vengsarkar was rated the best batsman in the world, but nobody except the computer that did the rating believed it.

Not there to provide thrills
by praveen rao on Jul 11, 2011 08:06 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoni and Kohli are hardly in the best of form in test cricket. Harbhajan is a hit or miss. Laxman has the uncanny knack of finding the weirdest way to get out. Dhoni has not signed a pledge with the spectators to provide them with edge of the seat thrillers.....go see a Bond movie if you want that. As a captain, his first and foremost duty is to the team and protect its interests. He tried winning with Raina and once he got out, there was no way on current form against Rampaul and Edwards that this lineup would risk a loss. All the people shouting from the rooftops would be baying for Dhoni's blood for having squandered a series win. No one knows the pitch as well as the guys in the middle and when someone like Dravid sends a message back saying that the pitch is difficult, you listen to him. Not try to please the armchair critics.

Mr. Ashish Kumar

Praising Dhoni is a sign of chamcha. Do you have iota of sense or you have sold in this commercial market. Actually you lacks the basic concept of management. If you are right, then every successful person on this earth fall under you views criteria. SRT is so much lucky to score highest hundreds. He is so lucky to be still in Indian team, but has been in other country he should have shown the door, and soon.

Dada is missed. But no complains as long as we stay no.1. Got to show more hunger for wins if we want to stay there for long.

Hey buddy, that is a stupid argument. If only those who have been successful in cricket should comment about the game, then no one here would have any right to comment about any player even if he is a fresher. Then you and me would not be commenting here. Criticism needs to be viewed objectively and replied to as well instead of getting offended when our favourite player is being criticised.

There is no sporting spirit in the players..!
by nilesh darekar on Jul 11, 2011 07:53 PM  | Hide replies

Guys we have to accept the fact that our team wasn't so aggressive in the field throughout this test match. It was all about the true team spirit which lacks in current indian team. They don't derverved as champion team...!I had watched when Sammy and company came on the field gathered together to decide their strategy no to loose this match at any cost and truely they put their 100% on the field..Hats off to WI team..! Shame to Dhoni and Company.. and that idiot Fletcher...Kick him from the coach!

Dhoni using Fletcher and hiding behind, con man, we know it well
by Manish Kulkarni on Jul 11, 2011 07:50 PM  | Hide replies

Everyone knows India's #1 ranking is total FAKE. The match proved it..hopefully England will expose the likes of Drunkard Fletcher, a 62 year old fart who can't even throw ball is coach. Garry Kirsten used to bowl in nets and bat and show the technique. This old fart has been brought in as a puppet. Dhoni will retire when all the top stars like Sachin, Laxman and real guys who got India at the top retire. He is using all these players and minting money, and people think he is cool. He is con man !

1. Everyone knows its fake? You assume a lot on everyone else's behalf.

2. Hopefully England will expose Fletcher? Under Fletcher the England cricket team achieved famous series victories away to Sri Lanka, Pakistan and South Africa between 2000-2004.He is called to be the best coach for England.

3. Dhoni's retirement? You are into predictions too? God save your clients if that is what you do for a living.

4. He is using these players? Do you even know how to express yourself?

Common sense not going for the win ????
by girish bayes on Jul 11, 2011 07:44 PM  | Hide replies

Aren't we the world champions in one day format ? Don't we boast of one of the best batting line-ups in the world ? Can't we score just 4 runs an over in a test match which has a team full of mediocre bowlers ?
Point well accepted that the series is won, but its 1-0. And, 2-0 would have sounded and looked better in the record books. Moreso, it was possible, ONLY if the batsmen had shown a bit more resolve. OR were we afraid of loosing the test ?
Ridiculous ! Atleast we should have gone for it, and had we lost 4-5 wickets in a heap - then the others could have stalled and grafted and blocked the rest of the overs.
Sad that the No 1 team in the world is by nature a 'defensive team'.

Sorry Mr.Fletcher, can't agree with you on this one atleast.

I agree with your views, but the difference between the world cup team and this one is in the world cup we had sehwag, sachin, yuvraj, gambhir who are all stroke players while this one had dravid, laxman and an out of form kohli and one can't expect a miracle of sorts from them like scoring over 4 runs per over!!!
