Eaden Garden

This missing of repeated deadlines depicts poor work culture & tendency to stage manage the show rather than meticulus planning & follow-up on execution. When the incompleteness is visible by any citizen driving on road besides Eaden Gardens what to defend?? Thia is a shame to be shared by all concerns including the local Government.

Deja Vu

Not a surprise to me that Eden Garden is not upto scratch and its D vu Commonwealth Games in Delhi last year. Don’t know what it is : Being lazy, Lethargic ,sheer incompetence or its our typical Indian mentality of leaving work till the last and hoping for a miracle to happen.

Blame game has already started- BCCI blaming ICC for the delay but hello is it not the responsibility of the host nation or board and government to certain extent to make sure that things are done on time and we always end up making a lauging stock of ourselves on International stage.

Been living in New Zealand for the past years now and seeing how things are done here astonishes me . New Zealand is gearing up for Rugby World Cup in Oct 2010 and all the renovations to the stadium were compeleted last year and all the venues are up and running 10 months before the tournament and new stadium in Dunedin work started mid 2010 and is due for completion in May 2011. Should we be not taking a leaf out of New Zealand ‘s book

U r right rohit. It is our sheer incompetence and unprofessionalism in these matters which always brings shame to our country.Staying in London and waiting for London 2012 to happen is a great moment. And Britain will leave no stone unturned for it even under the tough economic situation.
whereas for a World Cup Cricket match to happen it doesn't require that much preparation.
I'm surprised to see our folks failing in that also.
u can imagine the tickets being sold and ppl making all their plans in advance has to go thru disappointment

Please give atleast one match to Barabati Stadium,Cuttack, Orissa

please shift atleast one match to Cuttack , Orissa (Barabati Stadium). I am astonished to see not a single match of world cup in Cuttack Barabati Stadium!!It is 2nd biggest stadium of Asia after Eden Gardens & attracts huge crowd in all the matches. It is one of the most fabulous destinations for cricket under flood light..please give atleast one match at such great cricketing venue..

Its definitely one of the finest stadiums in India and one of the oldest. Other stadiums have improved infrastructure wise at a later time because more matches were played in those venues (eg. Nagpur), but Cuttack did not get its share.

There is definitely some lobby working here. I feel sad about all this. Its not only Barabati, there are few more stadiums which are also ignored.

Its disheartening to see Eden one time Mecca of Indian Cricket treated very badly by its own people.
I hope its time for people of Bengal to rise for their honour.
