Three reasons...
by rajath on Jan 20, 2011 08:31 PM  | Hide replies

If India looses worldcup, it will be most probably due to:
1.Lack of captaincy skills on the part of Dhoni.
2.Tendualkar is a weak link in the batting lineup.
3.Dhoni is another weak link in the batting lineup.

On the hindsight, the advantage of having tendulkar is it may ease the pressure of focus on other batsmen.Still this advantage is negligible compared to the disdvantage of having him.

Rajath, normally smart people look at what happens and then analyze the reasons. Obviously you are not that smart. No worries. :))

"Tendualkar is a weak link in the batting lineup". I heard these kind of comments before commenement of worldcup 2003 but then Tendular scored 673 runs in that world cup. He onlt lead our team to finals unfortunately we lost in finals. Thanks to our pace bowlers like Zaheer, Srinath, Nehra etc.

If that was aimed at me then screw you ... you spoke shite last time as well and I let it go... don't overstep the line... your knowledge appears to be blind passion and little else...

I have not agreed with the comments... I have merely said that if number 2 occured it would be the biggest danger to us winning the WC. That's a theory not dissing your hero...

You mean to say there is no need of Sehwag and Gambheer as they were also not playing. I have heard many nonsence comments about Tendulkar from some fool Tendulkar washers but this one beats every of them. Hats off to you...

For the last 20 years..recount all great things India did.
Except for t20 world cup, sachin was part of everything else and also instrumental..
Can deny me with facts?

Dhoni? He has captained the side successfully and has taken India places.

So what if he isn't the batsman he once was... a successful CEO of a Company cannot do the job of most of his employees... he's employed for the 'knowledge'.

The team respect Dhoni and that builds positivity... so why can't you :-)?

To add to it, dhoni is actually a far better batsman than he was. He was a flat track bully but transformed into a sensible batsman who understands responsibility and has a cool head. Good for India. Let fools like sunny keep on missing the points. :)

Respect for Dhoni??? Your comment shows your cricket knowledge. Dhoni is just a fluke player and a damn lucky captain. He is riding on other's success. What is his batting contribution in last 2 years??? And don't ask me to respect Dhoni. First you learn to respect Senior players.

His comment shows his cricketing knowledge and yours the lack of the same. He scored in both odis and both of the tests. But fools like you just dont get it due to the hate.

Come on guys, Do not be childish. Stop fighting. Every player is good. they do their best but sometime the luck is not in favour. That's why anyone of them comes ahead to save the INDIA. That's what we need and makes a team. Chill out guys and be happy. GOODLUCK for 4th ODI

Worst world cup ever:2011
by om shanti on Jan 20, 2011 07:18 PM  | Hide replies

2011 will be the worst ever world cup in cricket history and will be held in Asian sub-continent.India therefore should try to win this time being the best among the worst.. there won't be a better chance in the near future.

At present, every country is performing like club teams and it seems even Chennai Super Kings or Mumbai Indians can win the world cup.

In each of the world cup, atleast one country had a great set of players, which is missing now,for example:

Prudential world cup:75-83

West Indies: Lloyd,Hayens,Richards,Greenidge,Marshal,Holding,Roberts,etc.
India:Gavaskar,Kapil,Amarnath,Sandeep Patil,Srikanth,etc.

1987-1996:Reliance world cup:

Viv Richards,Graham Gooch,Martin Crowe,John Right,David Gowar,Rameez Raja,Wasim Akram,Imran Khan,David Houghton,Allan Border,Vengsarkar,Steve Waugh,Mark Waugh,McGrath,Richard Hadle,Cairns,Chris Harris,Sayeed Anwar,David Boon,Azharuddin,Kapil Dev,Hooper,Foster,Walsh,Ranatunga,DeSilva,Jaysurya,Muralitharan,Vas,Abdul Qadir..so many stars !
1999-2003 :Its all about australia.Although India(Ganguly,Dravid,Tendulkar,Srinath in peak),West Indies(Gayle,Chanderpaul,Sarwan),Pakistan(Yusuf,Akhtar,Saqlain,Inzi),New Zealand(Bond,Harris,Fleming),South Africa(Rhodes,Klusener,Kallis,Cronje,Gibbs,Cullinan,Donald,Ntni,Flintoff,Naseer Hussain),also had stars...
Well this year,West Indies,Australia,Pakistan,New Zealand, all are going down hill.Only few stars will be seen in action.so,this is the best chance..

Series win
by mahadevan ravi on Jan 20, 2011 07:14 PM

This SA side is highly Smith reliant and though Amla and Devilliers are seniors, they sorely miss Kallis and Pollock(retired). They will not be able to chase anything more than 225.India is not that depleted though all our bTop performing batsmen are out at the moment. So wishing the Team a firstever series win in SA soil.
