The only reason I've selected Yusuf is he can bowl 5-6 good overs. One thing is sure India will play with 4 bowlers. In that case we need Yusuf,yuvraj and Viru to bowl 10 overs. Otherwise I would like to include Kohli instead of Yusuf.

Kohli is the only inform batsman at present, While Sachin and Gauti Coming back from Injuries will take few Matches and Sehwag, U can't Trust always and the Top looks weak considering Y Singh Form, Kohli is a Must, IMO, If Y Pathan has to come in means it would be at the Cost of Sehwag only, Harsh truth

I would say, it depends on how good his Shoulder is, If he is not recovered fully, then I don't want him to play atleast for the Initial few matches, BCCI done a favour by Scheduling Minnows earlier for us, When we start to play Main teams it will be 2 months from today!!!!
Ashish Nehra, Chawla and Ashwin are the three useless players in our squad and ultimately will cost us dearly if they ever get to play. The selectors should have picked Sreesanth and Ojha in their place.

Sreeshant performs once in 2 years. That does not secure his place in the team. And on Indian pitches he is very expensive. Ashwin is a good pick. There was no need to pick Chawla.

I would have picked Sree purely for his heart for the big ocassion. Otherwise yeah. But let me also add that sree can take wickets in indian conditions better than nehra. But nehra is more economical.

Ashwin has barely played 7 ODIs and that too some were against Zimbabwe and a depleted Sri Lankan side. You think he is good enough to take on the best batsmen of spin in the world. Ojha has played test cricket, many more ODIs and was also the highest wicket taker in IPL and the most economical. I cant think of anything but politics to keep him out of the side.

Raju, every selection you do is not necessarily based on how long you have played. You look at lot of factors including surprise elements and stuff. Looking at mendis now, why was he selected by SL to play initially. He had certain things then and they used it. Such decisions are made. Is it necessary that everybody understands it ?. And if we dont, does it only mean that it is partisanship ?. come on man..

Ashwin is an over rated bowler, only picked because he is from TN and chairman of selectors is from TN. Ojha is miles ahead of him. This will be proved in the World Cup. I hope he never gets to play in the team though.

The selectors should be unbiased and pick the best possible squad for the WC, something which they havent done. Dont get carried away with regional feelings and support players just because they represent your state. That's one thing which is dragging India down.

The thing is I have already written why Ojha is a better bowler than Ashwin, simply because he has played test match cricket which is the highest level of cricket and performed well, played more ODIs, and was the highest wicket taker in the last IPL. So if you were to compare player to player statistics, Ojha should have been picked. So why was Ashwin preferred over him ?

As much as i agree that ojha is a good bowler, the captain of the team and others think ashwin would be better for the occassion. You can call it partisanship if you wish. Players are not picked purely on stats or history. Remember mendis ?. He had surprise. so considerations like that are made.

Chawla, Nehra and Ashwin have performed ? Where ? It was more than 2 years since Chawla played an ODI. What parameters are you using to judge his ability ? Ashwin has played only 7 ODIs and that too some were against Zimbabwe. Its pure politics to prefer him over Ojha because he is not experienced enough and not shown much potential. About Nehra, if he cant bowl well in bouncy and swinging conditions in South Africa, what will happen to him in flat batting tracks in India. Sreesanth has shown he is in great form in tests and he has wicket taking ability, something which Indian bowling attack lacks. Same with Ojha.

This pausing before the delivery and other stupid tricks can work in IPL and against Zimbabwe, against whom he played in ODIs, but he will be useless against quality players of spin. I have seen him bowl and I say without any bias that he doesnt look a good enough bowler who can play international cricket. He has barely played any international cricket and I dont think he has enough experience and skill to play in the world cup. As always, politics will prove to be the bane of India's world cup chances.

You can't never ever compare different ball games, Sree is the only Bowler in the World having an E rate over 6 after playing 50 ODI's. His Last year E Rate in India is 7.19, certainly He never deserve any place in the ODI.

Go to cricinfo and look up the stats. By Test, ODI, IPL standards, Ojha has taken more wickets and more economical than Ashwin. You are a moron if you still think otherwise.
Bangladesh...We need to include Aswin.They have not faced him .So far.That will be our ace.Nehra has to sit out and Munaf ,zaheer and Praveen are our pacers...
India has scraped through the last two matches with victory without major conrtibutions from its batting.The law of average suggets that the batting should click in the next two matches which will definitely get the first ever ODI series victory in S Africa.Am positive that the boys have got used to Steyn and Morkil's pace and bounce by now and their performance will definitley be better than it has been so far.It augurs well. Let us hope.
