Time has come, Justify No. 1 Test Renking
by Rajesh Gupta on Jan 06, 2011 12:22 PM

Its time for India to show the world, why they are no. 1.
They are not on the top just by luck or playing in their home grounds or played with low teams.
They have to show that they can beat No. 2 side on their home ground against the world class fast ballers.

Not easy, but everything is possible in Cricket and with Indian Team.

Change the strategy
by S VENKATESH on Jan 06, 2011 12:14 PM  | Hide replies

Simply blaming Sreeshant does not solve the purpose. He has taken 5 wickets in 1st Innings,at that time Sreeshant is a hero.
Now u drop Ishant, bring back Munaf, Irfan Pathan, R.P. Singh,Amit Mishra, Pragnyan Ojha, Piyush Chawla. We have got so many Quality bowlers why selectors are not encouraging these players who acheived a lot at a given situation. Instead of that simply giving chances inexperienced players like Unakad, Umesh Yadav,Abhimanyu Mithun.

Irfan is good allrounder. Why Srikanth is against Irfan we cannot understand. See Watson, Kallis, Abdul Razzaq, Angelo Mathews,Paul Collingwood,Bravo, Pollard,

So every country has got 1 allrounder, they perform either in bat or ball. Like we got an effecient allrounder. We are not utilizing. What a shame? AFter Anil Kumble, no leg spinner? Why the selectors are not utilising Amit Mishra or Piyush Chawla. They have good talent in batting also.

Only 4 bowlers in a Test Match does not solve the purpose. Perhaps Dhoni is oversmart & overconfident. He is not captaining the side. He is playing the role as a dictator. First we have to remove him as a Captain, and give captaincy to VVS Laxman.

Sreeshant is a valuable asset to the Indian Side. He is quite young. If anybody critisize while playing while naturally one will get angry. What Allan Dolland was doing against Rahul Dravid 8 years ago?

Please change the strategy instead of complaining somebody.

India will be luckly to survive...
by Surya Prakash on Jan 06, 2011 11:38 AM  | Hide replies

India will be very lucky to save the match. There is no chance of winning because the only one capable of giving India a chance SEHWAG is out of form. The rest cannot stand up to STEYN. Tendulkar who played a good knock in the first innings may not fire when required. It is only a matter of time and runs - how many we score before folding up. STEYN is too good for us unlike our star bowlers who were totally ineffective except Harbhajan. When you watch the SA bowlers bowl, you feel pitch is offering great assistance, but when our bowlers hit the deck, you feel it is flat..

Sahwag is never out of form or inform. He is different type of batsman. Opening pair need to stay just one session. Although its not easy for them.

Good info. But today is not our day. We do not have the defence to stand up to STEYN GUN. Our only hope SEHWAG is not firing. Tendulkar is tired. Rest of the guys cannot stand up to the fast bowling..

Sehwag has to score big century
by binu george on Jan 06, 2011 10:45 AM  | Hide replies

Though all of us want India to win but we should see the past record also.Chasing even a fourth innings total of 275 on a good deck on last day is really very difficult. And when it comes down to India it is next to impossible. If India has to win it will be none other than Sehwag.Though the record says Sehwag has scored only 1 century in the second innings. The moment we loose Sehwag winning we be out of question. The following once will be trying to save the match but will crumble to Steyn,Morkel & Harris. At present Indian victory seems to be more of a sheer optimism and chances of SA winning is more.

What we have and we dont..

Highest scores of Indian batsman in fourth innings
on non subcontinental pitches in won or drawn match
( Knocks above 50)

Laxman one knock only
63 Warner Park, west indies

Sehwag one knock only
65 Warner Park, west indies

Sachin one knock only
119* England Manchester

Dravid five knocks
103* New Zealand Hamilton
87 vs South Africa other important knock

Dhoni one knock only
76* England Lord's

Gambhir nil

and bowlers ? we have seen yesterday

Interestingly
Kallis 101 against Australia in Melbourne in a drawn match

Bowlers do win test matches
and we even struggle to take 20 wickets...

by mruthyumjaya mruthyumjaya on Jan 06, 2011 10:41 AM

There is no time.India has no chance of winning.Dravid & Laxman are Classical Cricketeers. They cannot score at faster rate.Althogh Sehwag & Tendulakar can do score at faster rate, they have poor second innings rate.
