Re: Kallsi on the way to be the best

Before, Ppl used to say this abt Ponting too ...couple of series plays dont determine that...Couple of decades service ....Sure
As every Indian knows, whenever Tendulkar scores a century or is the highest scorer in the team, then India fail to win..and when Laxman scores a century or is the highest scorer, India invariably wins.. Maybe its Sachin's bad luck or mayb its because nature always supports people who are not selfish at heart..

Vikas Bhardwaj:
:) 100% correct... that's why even selfish Laxman can't chase down the target of 484 tomorrow... :) Keep a count and see how close he can get to 484... and if not, then label him selfish.... Agreed? :)

Ouch !! This is the rare quality mostly found in Indians.. When the going gets tough... the blame game gets going....Please think twice about commenting on one of our greatest sporting heroes.

In the last series against Australia which India won 2-0, Sachin was the highest scorer (98) for India in the first test at Mohali. In the second test at Bangalore, Sachin was again the highest scorer (214) in the first innings. I don't think India could have won that series without Sachin's contributions.

The fact is that if laxman made us win 2 match sachin made us win 10 matches ...this is only fact everything else is just state of mind.

After your this post , every Indian sure knows that u r born idiot...Till now they thought u developed that ability by hard work...Thanks for clearing everyones doubts...
Today Dhoni's captaincy skills was there for all to see..Even after Boucher got out he dint bring the field in when Steyn or even worse when Morkel was batting.. Today India had the chance to create history but Dhoni blew it away by easing away all the pressure from the batsmen.. It was like watching a Ranji Trophy match with neither the skipper, nor the batsmen nor the fielders have any interest in the runs being scored.. But India will not lose the match tomorrow as our second innings saviour Laxman will save the game for India

Poor captancy I agree..Abt Laxman lets see..Laxman was in first test We knwo wht happened...So wait till tomorrow ...I wish Ind win..But its very hard ...If whole team plays good then only its possible...
Jacques Kallis is a better batsman than Sachin Tendulkar. In my opinion. Let’s see if the stats back up this opinion. And tell the full story.
We’ll take it from a purely batting point of view. Forget the fact that Kallis has taken 270-odd test wickets at a brisk fast-medium, and thus often bats after having sent down ten or more overs in a day. Forget the fact that he is the best all-rounder the world has ever seen. In my opinion.
Many people point to the stuttering start that Kallis made in test cricket. Undeniable. After a string of lean scores, he hit his first test hundred in his 10th innings – a career-making, match-saving hundred at the MCG against Australia in their pomp.
Sachin Tendulkar got his first test hundred in his 14th innings, an unbeaten 119 against England at Old Trafford.
Kallis has scored exactly half of his 38 test hundreds at home, half away. (No hundred against Sri Lanka yet, by the way; Sachin has the full house).
Thirty three of Tendulkar’s 50 test hundreds have been scored on the docile wickets of the sub-continent. Those of you who would dismiss the Little Master as a flat-track bully, however, need to look at where he scored his first four test hundreds: Manchester, Sydney, Perth and Johannesburg. This in the days when the latter two venues were among the quickest tracks in the world.
If you look closer at that staggering tally of 50 test match centuries, 13 have been

There are 2 aspects of watching cricket. One with respect to result, the with respect to art of playing. With respect to proportionate results, VVS, Kallis, etc gets favour. But as an art of Batsmanship, nobody better than 'Tendulkar'. He is fine artist. Anyway watching cricket is not productive activity, so bette enjoy the art.

Dude Vijay, why are Kallis centuries on docile wickets in the subcontintent discounted? If its docile for Sachin it should be docile for Kallis too.

13 have been scored in the second innings of tests. Of those 13 tests, India won just three, and only one outside the sub-continent (against New Zealand in Hamilton). One of these second-innings hundreds was a 136 against Pakistan in 1999. Sachin was seventh out with the total on 254. India, chasing 271, were bowled out 12 runs short of their target. He failed to shepherd them home when well set.
My point is that, unique talent though he is, Tendulkar has not led India to victory often enough, or toughed things out under pressure, to be regarded as the best there’s been. In my opinion.
Regarding that vexing question of the best batsman ever, Australians don’t even want to debate the issue. Anyone from Down Under who doesn’t immediately answer Don Bradman is liable to be frog-marched to the nearest stocks and pelted with rotten ‘roo steaks.
The Don’s stats are pretty compelling. An average of 99.94 from 80 test innings. Then again, 60 of those innings were against England. A mere twenty knocks against South Africa, West Indies and India.
How good was The Don? The grainy footage shows a technique that was far from classical. Comparison between eras may be odious, but given that today’s sporting environment is far more competitive and professional, with cutting-edge technical, nutritional and fitness advancements, it’s only logical that today’s players

You made a great effort to prove Kallis and Don better than Sachin. OK.
I think you can send this to Austrllian New Paper whose readers ranked Sachin higher than Bradman.

There are some indians who at any given opportunity start self doubting..Just because someone hits back to 100 he sudddenly becomes best, then what abt Bhajji 2 100s? Believe in ur selfm ur country men and ur country first...Sometime Jayasuria in hey days was too hot for indians to get him out, same way Amla before 2 tests matches..history is full of such examples..Time for you to go and sleep...If someone looks towards SUN and tries to spit, the spit will fall on his face itself :-)

Agreed, too much negativity that they don't agree Indian team as No.1 test team or Sachin as No.1 batsman. And oh, they are Indians by birth.
