Indian Ranji Players get a bump
by EDWARD CHARLES on Feb 28, 2011 01:11 AM

It looks like Indian worlcup cricket team is comprised of Ranji Trophy players.
One of the team in this world cup that has poor fielders and poor bowlers is India.
Assume if india is bowled out for a low total, then DHONI has to bowl and get wickets for india's win.!!!
Alas!!!!!!!!!!!

India makes 370 against bangladesh, yet bangladesh smashes these Ranji Trophy bowlers and get close to 300 Runs in their chasing game.India makes 330 runs against England, english batsmen smashed our Ranji Trophy Bowlers in every corners of the groun and luckily it was a tie for india instead of a defeat to india. England clearly Challenged the cricketing world that India is not the favourites for winning this world cup. Can Team India take up this challenge with this Ranji Trophy Bowlers?

India has to do lot more better to get into semi-finals. Otherwise only luck has to save them in each game.
Luck in Bangalore match will not be comming with India always. Indian team should remember this.

Poor Captaincy, Poor Bowling, Worst Tail enders batting, Droped catches, misfields, no appeals from behind for the nicks and 100 crores Indians including u and me still keeps faith on this team. Sad State of trust!!!!.

Indians forgot that, Worldcup is not only special to indians, its also special to each team participating
in the game. See pakistan's performance against Srilanka. It was a gem performanc from them.

England's performance exposes the pitch of such a crucial match

The curator of this crap pitch should be set on fire on the same pitch. Where was the contest between bat and ball, England pretty much exposed our helpful pitch condition and our great batting lineup to no.7.
A match which was pretty much ours by lunch was given away. India needs to drop one batsman and play a bowler like Sreesanth, that is the only way India mite do well against teams like South Africa.

3 seamers and 1 spinner did not work.

2 seamers and 2 spinners did not work either.

Since Indian top order batting is clicking, India should drop a batsman and try out 3 seamers and 2 spinners. Take Sreesanth as the third seamer and Ashwin as a spinner. With his flight Chawla might pick one or two wickets, but he always gives the batsman an opportunity to score runs.

we have a problem. Had it been just the part timers that leaked runs, your analysis would have been accurate. But alas , this aint the case

Basically it was the arrogant indian batting collapse in the last 2 overs that cost the match..

ho w many runs u need. inspite of scoring 349 runs its always thought that ind total was couple of runs short. but ultimately it was bowling deptt n fielding that got us in such a position.

its typo . its 338. but do es it matter whether its 340 or 350. main thing is scoring around 350 runs wasnt sufficient!
