One of the best quotes from the article
It is inevitable that cricket is a very different game if Tendulkar haven't been here.

1.)"There are many greats who are popularised in cricket but Tendulkar have popularised the game itself"

2.)Millions of people in India and in the subcontinent started watching cricket just to watch Tendulkar bat.

3.)The poulation of Tendulkar's state is itself bigger than the combined population of England and Australia. And we are talking about a country that has 28 states and 7 union territories and the nation it self has a population of all the combined poulation of the remaining cricket playing nations.

4.)I don't think there is any other cricketer who is carrying so much expextations as Tendulkar does.

5.)Lot of young Indian cricketers wouldn't have been playing cricket if Tendulkar haven't played cricket.

6.)Despite of playing 20 Years of the highest level of cricket I don't find any youngster who got the zeal to play cricket as Tendulkar does. It's hard to find a sportsman as humble as Tendulkar.

7.)It is inevitable that Bradman is the greatest batsman ever and still you have to say that Bradman have been watched for the sake of cricket, but with Tendulkar you have to say that many a people watched cricket just to see Tendulkar bat.

Despite of all this one can say that he is the only cricketer who miss his personal life than any other.

so called captain cool
by deepak prasad on Mar 02, 2011 08:35 PM

i think dhonis cool approach is hampering the indian team.all mistakes on the field be it bowling or fielding he has the same dumb expression which his team mates understand it to be ok sab thik hai.at times you have to call a nut that you are a nut or else you keep defending your self in the post match interview.look at his coolness, strauss had knicked on 13 and he dosenot appeal.

If you want to blame someone....
by bluesshaman on Mar 01, 2011 03:55 PM

...blame Munaf Patel. What was he thinking, with that short run?! How incompetent does a highly paid cricketer have to be to make such ridiculous mistakes?! AND, he gave a six in the final over. I know people blame the UDRS but Bowden ruled Ian Bell not out anyway. Also, I think India need to dump Yuvraj pronto. He killed the momentum Sachin had gotten going. Just bring back Raina already. He's definitely a better batsman in Indian conditions. And Bhajji should be disciplined. He drops catches and is a lazy fielder. Any other ODI team would have taken that catch to dismiss Strauss. I was at the ground and saw Dhoni gesture at Bhajji angrily for lazy fielding that let a single turn in to a boundary. And Bhajji gestured back! The guy had just made a lazy non-attempt and was defending it! Maybe Ojha should be given a chance. At the least, we should try other bowlers. Other fielders who'll give 100% for all 50 overs. Either way, our bowling unit is an embarrassment. Even Zak was belted at the start of the England innings! Somebody needs to help Munaf become more disciplined with his bowling length. India really need to dig deep if they are to win this tournament. I'm hoping Dhoni makes the desperately required changes and drops the players that lack discipline. I do think Indian fans are right in expecting nothing but 100% from the players they support with such passion. I want India to win and win like the champs they are.

by ABHILASH S on Mar 01, 2011 03:38 PM

Ta main issue's ta bowlers..We don't 've a match winning bowler except Saheer. Both Harbhanan& other parttimers lost their sharpness..&it's very often a bowler wins ta subcontinent continuosly...so ta Indian Think tank should work to execute their ideas suit to the enemies &situations

Match can not be won by such kind of bowling display
by pramod kumar on Mar 01, 2011 11:15 AM

whoever the captains may be , a match can not be won by such kind of bowling display. we all seen the performance of our bowlers in power play when the field was not open & that might prompted dhoni to spread the field that allowed single & two & that also brought down the runrate of the england.

Harbhajan is the problem.....
by Junior Shelly on Feb 28, 2011 11:35 PM

That loud mouthed shnook is in the team because he is thought of as a 'match winner'. I don't remember a performance form Harbhajan in the recent past which would fit that label. Harbhajan is unable to take wickets, and the rival teams seem to be very happy to see his overs through by scoring ones and twos and occasional boundaries.
