Dhoni is out of motivation?
by Ian Chappell on Feb 28, 2011 03:09 PM

Hi mates..Dhoni's words before the wold cup was sheer complacency and Indian cricket team is in the wrong hands right not...a "contented" captain who just doesn't feel that world cup is a BIG TOURNAMENT and complaining about fatigue before the world cup, concerned about next IPL season...needs to look seriously about his career as a cricketer because if world cup can't motivate you then what else can?

take out sehwag and save him for ireland & Netherland
by teja.anand@rediffmail.com on Feb 28, 2011 12:12 PM

If we need to win, we should take out sehwag who is busy hitting sixers in the media. he should concentrate on his game rather than giving us lottery tickets in games with netherlands & ireland and then make public statements. His fielding is below par by international standards. i think greg chappel was right in his assessment about zak & sehwag. both think they are above the game and dont give their 100%. Its not bcos u bowled well, u can relax, u have to field well and bat 50 overs even if the score was 300 . Zak was disaster with bat & fielding. High time, pull up your socks else we would need Greg to do that for us. Greg might have been disaster but he actually helped us to clean the team by getting rid of ganguly, zak & sehwag. Zak & sehwag returned back improved but again are slouching

if india wants to win the worldcup still there is chance but with the following changes

change the captain
we need three fast bowlers
kohli should bat before yuraj
pathan should be used as per the situation
fielding should be at its best

It would be good if INDIA does not win the World Cup with this kind of Bowling and Fielding potentials. It would be such a disgrace as the case study would be drawn and in future teams would try and emulate what pathetic Indian players achieved....

there is absolutely nothing wrong if the Indian team wins the worldcup based on its batting alone. The hell is wrong with you. Its a classic case of someone winning a 100 meter race using a wheelchair.

However the chances of this event happening is as good as ZERO.

Simple question " do you go and buy lottery ticket and believe to win ,just because someone won the lottery"

Are you not contradicting yourself by saying both (Nothing wrong if INDIA wins by batting and chances of it happening is ZERO)?? Tell me which team has won a world without good seam bowlers.

I would go as far as saying NO INDIAN bowlers in history have the average less than 25.

For a bowler to be considered good, he should have the average to be at least less than 25.

India for the last 30 years of ODI cricket’s history is yet to find an intimidating fast bowler who clocks more than 150 kmph consistently.

No I am not contradicting myself at all
Think i had given an example already

Anything wrong in winning a lottery ? Nope
Chances of winning the lottery ? As good as Zero

Indian bowlers never have had an average less than 25. Kumble used to have it in the 1990's i think, but thats it.

India hasn't been able to find a replacement for Kapil as a bowler, leave alone an all rounder

cricket is not a game of ifs and buts. if sehwag was out on the first ball, if tendulkar would have been run out. yr given more than 300 bowls to prove your worth unlike any other game

Pathak:

You want to play IFFY games?

IF Pietersen's cracking boundary shot didn't accidentally lob up off of Munaf to give him a dolly catch, they would have scored more easily as Pietersen was dispatching even Zaheer regularly across the park, and maybe they didn't fail to score near 339 score? :)

We should have no complaints on England Perfermance. Infact they played good cricket courtesy (Indian Bowlers). That one decision is via ICC rules (2.5 mt rule). Look at Pakistan, they are very similar in fielding like us but yet with superior bowling manages to win games

dont search for reasons, 338 was a good score to defend, bowling and fielding was pathetic

you are correct saleem, that it 338 is very good score to depend, but fielding and bowling should be improved in future matches.
best of luck india,

Who is hurt most?
by MeetFireWithFire on Feb 28, 2011 11:05 AM  | Hide replies

Is it the Indian fans or Indian players?

It is a sorry state to see heroes (Sehwag, Sachin) run after the ball only to give up their chases. They are not FIT at all. So is Munaf, Yuvi as well. The list is endless. It goes on and on and on. The whole Indian team is not showing any match fitness.

Flat wickets need better fielding effort if bowling is not great. Indians lack both. India for the last 30 years of ODI cricket’s history is yet to find an intimidating fast bowler who clocks more than 150 kmph consistently. For a bowler to be considered good, he should have the average to be at least less than 25. I would go as far as saying NO INDIAN bowlers in history have the average less than 25.

Indian bowlers neither have economy nor are they wicket takers.

Comical part is that INDIA is the most favorite to win the World Cup. I don’t understand the logic at all…

batting line up is main reason of Tied match.
by robbyrocket on Feb 28, 2011 10:48 AM

When India finished their inning, i said on this pitch the run on board by indian are very less, it should be 350..this is due to Dhoni wrong decision. if you've 10-12 overs remaining better send to Pathan/Kholi..bcoz they are in good touch..but dhoni has come before of them.
There is no any thing wrong in bowling line up. Bowler did well. The main reason of failure is only indian batting line up.
