Readers may pardon me, I hate Australians. They are perhaps the people who believe and at the same time promote racism. During the last couple of years Australians have either killed or man-handled or wounded many young Indians under their agenda of racism. Uses of abusing languages against Indians are very common there. When I see Ricky Ponting or when I analyze his activities, believe me, I see a picture of a true Australian within him – a citizen who perfectly represents the culture of his country. He is the founder of the present day sledging in cricket and is master in this field. He has the credit of promoting nasty politics within the game of cricket for which others were victimized. Sreesant is a burning example of it. He was captured in the camera while pushing Shri Sharad Pawar in a prize distribution ceremony. I hope this humiliating incidence should be enough to conclude that Ricky Ponting is a highly ill-mannered cricketer. In India, under-educated people do behave this way. In several occasions he influenced the umpire’s decision in his favour. He raised his finger, dictated his terms over the umpire and the whole world has seen that. Now he has shown his class again when he smashed a LCD TV in the dressing room after being declared run-out against Zimbabwe.

SMASHED? :)
I think you have the habit of exaggerating whatever you do... hence the Sreesant BURNING example... Pushing Shared Power (never mind the guy didn't even move to give space to the winning team to assemble)... THIS humiliating incident enough to conclude etc... Several occasions influencing umpire's decision (WHEN? Except once in 2008?)

Apology/Admission is not a sign of weakness. Point taken. However where is the credibility. Ponting have the history of not being credible. He admitted that he delibrately did it. Then why not punish him other than just a reprimand.

Physical Damage or Partly damaged. It is an action caused from height of angst who thinks that he is a superior race.
why do we indians hate someone or the others all the times??? do u think if that the same issue had happened in englang or new zealand, the media wud be highlighting something so stupid.imagine a flash news which says ponting broke a TV, when we are being looted millions and millions everyday by the government. i think that Tv might be of too low quality..... maybe a CWG type scam???? but anyways, grow up. its just a sport. i hope we indians take our work more seriously than cricket.

Boss the main issue our esteemed Rediff bloggers are interested in is not WHAT happened... It is WHO did it? :)
If Ponting had slapped Sree; or forget Sree... even his own team mate say Clarke or Hussey; our Rediff boys would have demanded Life Ban & Life imprisonment... Essays would have been written as to how that meant arrogance, racism, cheater attitude and what not... As such, Bhajji being a local boy, no one actually thinks that was arrogance..
Same is the case here.... reading through some of the "intelligent" commentators below, they want to know how the TV jumped on Ponting, what circuit component inside was damaged, how the glove weighing less than 300 grams could have damaged etc...
All making for very interesting reading, but reflecting poorly on our collective Intelligence and sportsman spirit... :)

Aussies get way with a reprimand. But the Asians would be banned. Is this not racism?? Another EG: Shane Watson got away for provocation. Gauti got a Test Ban. It is like Ponting did it. It could be who ever. We should not allow Racsim to prevail.

My apologies... Lehman got an 8 match ban... not lifer...
But the point is - he didn't deny the charges, and the ban was much bigger than what Bhajji got.. if only he stood up manfully ... Plus we all saw how Mumbai welcomed Symonds despite ICC's strictures on racist remarks.. :)

Bhajji is playing as BCCI has to go to court to prove that there were no racial remarks caused from the Indian side...
Thankfully the TV did not go and hit the box. Fan boys and apologists might come up with a scientific theory for that as well. Long live aussie tradition :))
