I think this shows high determination by the Australians. They can't tolerate anyone top of them.Ponting's behavior is natural instinct coupled with wisdom. Therefore he is the great player and successful captain.Indians should learn the mental strength from him.

I think Ponting needs to calm down and he should accept the fact that his hey days is over. I think he still lives in daydream and always has a illusion that his best mates McGrath, Warnie and Gilly is still around him and he is still leading a invincible team. His captaining abilities has been under scanner since he took over from Steve Waugh....every one though that he is good but he proved everyone wrong with his "heroics" is Ashes. Coming to the world cup I think being not fully fit he needs to concentrate on VRS after the WC as even if he win here there is no guarantee for his place in one day team...although he has 1 or 2 years left in test but Australia needs some fresh thoughts and young blood !

Good to see that despite your "intelligent" comments on his leadership, you agree that there is definitely a chance that he can still win the World Cup... :) Of course Steve Waugh won the 2003 and 2007 World Cups according to that same analysis of yours... :)

AP 30 in a row by the world class team that he was playing with. Its pretty visible what he has been thru after the greats have left. Anyway the point is that he is a sore loser which is pretty evident ever since the Aussies have started losing i.e. Post 2007. Look at his averages if you wish to compare post and pre 07.

Moreover winning or losing is team result. Ponting has been reduced to a sub average player individually past the great team. This was not the case with Sachin or Lara or Flower or Inzy. Get over it. Ponting is finished and Greg Chappell will see the back of him after this WC.

You may be right this time; but such comments have come regularly; before the 2007 WC, before the Champions Trophy, before their 2008 India tour, before the recent England ODI series, and in fact there were punters on this very forum expressing your sentiments even before the Zimbabwe match too.. Yet somehow they still bounce back ...

Just a small point. Ricky Ponting did not play in the recent Australia-England ODI series.

:) And neither did I say he did... :) And believe me you, the animosity of Indian fans would not be changed whether Ponting plays or Tait or Mike Hussey doesn't come in the WC. We will still keep making "predictions" regardless.. :)

Let Indian companies first buy out all their coal and iron ore mines. We will give these guys some more LCDs to break around.
