Mates...I must say India's performance yesterday was pathetic and lethargic ! You can't win the cup by betting on lame horses ! Sachin's best has been a PAST now and if Sehwag don't fire your bowling is not good enough to defend a low score. I haven't seen and fire in body language of Indian's too !But I will keep my wordings until I see the performance in the big match like against England. That match will decide how good the preparation and mindset of Indian team is !

"I think India are entitled to outright favouritism" "Australian team is flawed" is what Ian Chappell said.
India bowled well and even Sreesanth bowled with fire and swing. Bangladesh got lot of extras and lucky shots. Fielding was not up to the mark. Even the dew help the batsman at night. Not for nothing the team batting second in day-night matches has won 90% of the time. While the record for day matches is just 50%. Please watch, understand and comment.

Bowling was pathetic. It was just the pressure of chasing 370 which Bangladesh knew well that they would never achieve it. They would had achieved 300-310. Thanks to Sehwag who clicked and led the total to 370.
The inexperience of UDRS of Bangladesh and India was clearly evident in the match. They failed to utilize chances.

Please understand that the pressure 370 was good enough, just like 2007 WC final. Bowlers had full power to defend the total.

Why tendi here? Have you seen his batting yesterday? He was on his track.. Unfortunately he got.. May be misunderstanding between two.. So before you comment justify the reasons..

Abe-Ove, please remember this is only a game, ok? Wish u could play soccer, hockey, baseball, volleyball, netball, ice hockey, rugby, toboganning & many other sports where INDIA comes first from behind ! So stop being a divisive regionalist/racist & use your brains & mind ( if u have any !) to get out of the rut of reverse gear ! A healthy mind in a healthy body but why throw pearl at swine ...

All northys dhoni, raina, nehra, praveen, RP, yuvi ,bhajji bigger burden on Team India.

you idiot asshisskumar, it is these very northies who are responsible for india being no. 1 in all formats of the game at one point or other.
If India were batting second with the target of 370 they would have panicked and fumbled and would have got out to a meagre total. But Bangladesh team were playing confidently and at one stage it looked they may even chase the target successfully. That was a big achievement. In contrast the Indian bowling looked pathetic. Even with such a mammoth total to defend, Indian bowlers could not cause a collapse of sort. At one stage it was 200 with only 3 wickets down. So Credit should actually go to Bangladesh.
Re: Credit to Bangladesh
by Setu Madhavan on Feb 20, 2011 08:05 AM
You make a valid point. In the larger scheme of things, today's performance should serve as a dire warning. The premature celebrations should give way to deep introspection.
with this we aspire to win WC ?? in 1st 10 overs.. it appeared Bangladesh would make light of indian total. Its our bane that we indians give weightage to only batting . this is going to hurt us very badly.
Recd to bowl first .A clear case of "match fixed" cosidering the fact that India is the only best batting line up against all sorts of bowling and no fool gave even think of putting India into to bat first after winning the toss.B desh players must have earned a very sizeable booty to throw the match .It is the fate of poor countries and poorly paid players of Pak and B desh. India should not consider this as a great achievement since it has a long way to go .
"...his 83-ball knock consisting of eight boundaries and two OVER-BOUNDARIES (as the commentators call it)".
I am sure that commentator must be Ravi Shashtri. Just like he created his 'chappati shot' out of nowhere and used that lousy shot even if the ball allowed a chappati shot or not...as a commentator he will create absolutely pathetic phrases. For example, when DLF the sponsor paid him for every time he used their name while on TV, this guy would say after every six, "Well he has hit it clean for a DLF MAXIMUM!"
So Mr. Ravi Shashtri could not say, "he has hit it for a six".
Now this new term 'Over-Boundaries'. How difficult is it to say, 'SIXER'. Why always come up with something extra cute. 'Sixer' is shorter than 'over boundary', even if commentators want to economise on letters!
Re: What is wrong with commentators?
by Rushwat Pawar on Feb 20, 2011 09:00 AM
Please do not confuse Ravi Shastri any more. He is already clueless. Even Lala Amarnath - master of stating the obvious, would agree. What do you say, Lala ?
Now that the World Cup is on, for one and a half months, all the Scams, the talk about black money and corruption will take a back seat. And if by any chance, India manages to win the Cup, it will be treated as an achievement of the UPA Government.

by BALACHANDRAN PARANGODATH on Feb 20, 2011 07:30 AM
That means Sehwag's 175 is worthless!! May be it good to be a monist. But, in India there are 33,00,00,000 gods dear friend!
what greg did to zaheer, dhoni is doing it to Sreesanth. u could see sreesanth after the comments of dhoni. australian players, spit, beat, push, abuse etc. to other players and i am yet tosee some australian condemning them, especially their captain. see dhoni, how he demoralised sreesanth in a press conference. if he had anything to say, it should be in private. sreesanth will never be same again.
Re: sreesanth
by BALACHANDRAN PARANGODATH on Feb 20, 2011 07:43 AM
Dhoni wants to be the gentleman of present day cricket at somebody's cost. Sreesanth the poor southie doesn't understand it! To be subservient to whiteman's whims and fancies is our colonial trait. Ganguly was an exception and it cost him deerly.
Re: sreesanth
by ASHISH KUMAR on Feb 20, 2011 11:21 AM
Dhoni is a hrad core regional captain. He will not pass any comment if his northy frirnds bhajji /yuvi behaving badly in field. Also his friend raina missing bus due to oversleeping - but no discipline issue as he is northy. Hrad core politician dhoni.

Re: sreesanth
by VASUDEVAN VM on Feb 20, 2011 08:20 AM
I am worried whether that will be end of Shreeshant as Indian cricket done the same to another kerala bowler Tinu Yohannan, he conceaded 23 runs to chris gayle in his last match at West Indies and our selectors never considered him again. till that over he was doing well. Our selectors never seen the grt Bob Willis given 24 runs to Sandeep patil or 36 runs by Broad to Yuvraj and still they continued as strike bowlers. but a southern bowler it will be difficult to come back and particularly a so called "BAD BOY" LIKE Shreeshant. Let god help him.
Re: Re: sreesanth
by ASHISH KUMAR on Feb 20, 2011 11:25 AM
dhoni is most regional & political captain in history of indian cricket. Except sachin/zaheer all players from south/West are swiped out by dhoni in ODI/T-20. Thats one reason India has lost all big tournamnet /series in ODI/T-20 in last 2 yrs. In test he doesn't have authority to do it & thats why india is no. 1 in world courstey all senior players like sachi, dravid, laxman, kumble, zaheer etc. If given a power dhoni will replace laxman with yuvi & sachin with raina even in test.

Very valid points you make. But his pride will take a mighty fall. Just after defeating Bangladesh, people are going overboard, even though Bangladesh managed to score near 300 runs, and were not all out.
Pride comes before a fall. I just hope that mighty fall doesnt come in this world cup. Even though this team is displaying typical north Indian traits of back biting and back stabbing, it will still be sad to see them booted out of this tournament.
