ads are shown in between balls in india but in aus and eng or elsewhere ads r in between overs with scorecard shown static once in four ads etc.,
but in india its a shame to show ads in between balls let alone show scorecard anywhere
i feel its mainly bcause of 2 things --- nobody speaks up against etc., --- the purists are docile and enduring in nature
sometimes the ad starts after the 5th ball in an over itself
i guess these broadcast sponsors keep researchers to see how to show max ads rather than max cricket
and the commentators forget that the field placement/changes need to be told wen a mini-corner-field-placement-display isnt in place.
it might be that these days there is accent on 2 things by the broadcasters -- do research on how to show more ads than cricket to make the coffers double or triple than envisaged --- cater in broadcasting to people who want india to win at any cost rather than to people who want to see excellence on the field blossom and the better performance of the day is fruitful
oh i wud give anything to see a gr viswanath or kapil perform tremendously even if it was that their team lost
hope an alternative sensible channel will come forward and telecast as in international telecasts with dignity and decorum, so that the students/connossiers of the game would rather watch their channel than the other one running a mela i am sure this channel wud be viewed by more than the one wit the mela
1. Ads are shown as there is huge viewership for cricket in india 2. Day by day more viewers are attracted towards cricket 3. So Day by day ads will increase further
Solution Watch less cricket, ads will go down automatically.
Though this is a brilliant idea, i agree. There is no solution against greed than strict rules and punishment since, in this solution, too the cable operators / DTH service provider will shake hand with a particular broadcaster and telecast the channel and take few other sports channel off air. This is just a silly thought that came to my mind on first instance of reading the article. If i take a meeting with corrupt greedy people around me i could find some equally brilliant ideas to evade it. Simple solution may be to just put a cap on max ads. With the kind of viewership in India no one is going to lose anything. I have also not watched a single IPL match till date. Plain boycott. Only if was supported by others, sigh.

One more thing i would like to add is - During the Ind-SA ODI matches i skipped some matches as they went on late after midnight. As i was on holiday, I saw the complete re-telecast of 1 or 2 matches on the next day. It contained NO ads at all. They showed the out batsman going to the pavalion and new batsman coming in, players on ground reactions and everything around as the camera was ON without the commentary. It was so pleasing.

You are correct! But the problem is if it reaches those people who can take decision, they won\'t take \"wise\" decisions as they are not the \"right\" people. They are totally \"wrong\" - in their thinking, their doings and their approach, their everything.
i remember day where ad where place only in between overs and batman get out. it was fine. but during watching of India vs south Africa series. in December 2010 ad was pop during over it was so annoying. i dont know why that type of ad was place. i hope that some day ads will again go back to between overs only.

It is really a fun on Ad's with Cricket. When the last world cup,it was in foreign country the slogan was "come on India,Come on",Indian team returned immediate before completing the coplete the first level,by obliging the Ad's Slogan. This time it is with in India, but the Slogan is "Go India.GO" It means the ad's are chasing Indian team out of India. How is That.
