Adds are shown even when the bowler is going back to his run-up. its so cheap of them. They just to wait a wicket to fall and the viewers miss the action replay. Even the runs scored by out-going batsman and the manner of his dismissal is known after the innings is over when they show the wickets fallen.

Yeah, recently ten cricket did it in India vs SA series. It was highly irritating and in fact I lost interest after sometime. Bad telecast coupled with match fixing definitely makes cricket less interesting than other sports like football.
I don't see how this will work. By making broadcasters compete, the BCCI gets higher and higher bids. There is no incentive for them to stop. Even if rights were awarded to all, the five will combine to bombard the viewers with still more ads. If the government stepped in and regulated the ads, the quality of telecast will drop as broadcasters attempt to cut costs due to reduced revenue. Remember how horrible Doordarshan telecast was? Remember the horrible commentary and situation where couldn't even see the ball? The only solution is to cut demand. This means that people should become fed up and switch to Radio or Internet (there are many free pirated streams of ad free foreign broadcasts). Alternatively they could refuse to buy products advertised during cricket. You could also support other sports or switch off TV and go outdoors. It is only drop in demand that will make BCCI and the broadcasters behave.
At least Ravi Shastri speaks 'english'. Most of the other Indian Commentators have a vocabulary of 20 words. Gavaskar never goes beyond 'conserving his energy'. Siva always has a questioning tone like he can't make any sense of whats happening on the ground. Arun Lal is no good either. The only exception about Siddhu was that he could rant 200 phrases instead of 20 words. At least Shastri speaks 'propah' English. Manjerakar has good cricketing knowledge but he should restrict himself to 'expert comments' only. Its time for Ganguly to be in the commentary box. Some caustic remarks here and there wont hurt. And Kumble should also give it a try after all he is the sanest person around.
The current trend of superimposing advertisements on the screen when the over is still in progress is obnoxious, to put it mildly. Two methods adopted by the channels are cruel and stupid: reducing the telecast of the match and making way for advertisements in contrasting, horrendous colours on the left side and the bottom part of the screen thereby causing severe strain o viewing, particularly when one has a 14" or 19" television, and secondly, blasting the earth so to say between two balls. There are other methods too that are adopted which make television viewing a painful affair. I often marvel and the crass brainlessness of the idiot who is given the responsibility of pressing the ad. button even when the commentator has just begun to speak. The channels must understand that the public desire to switch on the television must be respected uppermost; if the channel buffoons do not realise this, then the Courts must intervene and din some grey matter in the heads of the channel masters.
I switched to watching the India-SA matches on DD, when I saw an exploding Nokia ad in the middle of the over, right when the bowler started his run up..I could actually see the replay of a dismissal before the ad. And the fockers at least let the commentator finish his score instead of cutting him abruptly to see sum fricking gurl coming out of the sea..If anything else, I just started detesting these products..
