Yes one cannot take away the credit from dhonis captaincy in recent years. He's a shrewd captain and has done well in presssure situation as a captain. But there also few points to be noted during his captaincy tenure.hes been leading a team after aussies invicible period and south africa's lack lustre performance in recnet times which gives him a chance to outplay these teams and be no 1 in recnet times. But one can always say the same team under diff captains didnt perform well as they have been performing nw.but there were 2 crucial transition of teams like aus and sa which gave dhoni a upper hand against these teams.Dhonis capatincy cd also have been tested during aussies invicible period and SA's peak and hw he and his team wd have fared during those times.but still hes one of the best captains india have prodeuced.

You are right at some extent. But SA and and Aus transition period doesn't make any difference in his leadership qualities. But yes it would have been tough for India to dominate in world cricket.

that is y i said hes a gud capatin and leader, but whether his leadership qualitues wd have taken india to no 1 during aussies invicble period and sa's peak is a question to be answered.if he had achived the no 1 status during those times he wd have been agreat captain no doubt on that.but if india were stil the no 3or no2 during those times it wd not have made any difference on his cpatincy.but still hes doing a gud job as a captain.

Has India not clutched defeat from jaws of victories in many many ocassions on which Aus and SA thrived on? Was there no transition period for India? Why people like you live in the past? Who is denying that Aussie and WI teams of far past were invincible? Who is saying Indian team is comparable with them? Rankings are between current teams. How many years Ponting and Smith needs to settle?

I mean no one shud compare two teams which never played against each other. Like comparison of Don and Sachin men of diff. eras.

Form is temporary and class is permanent. He has showed what he can do by leading ICC ODI ranking for 2 years.
rather he should hv said piyush bowled very well and middle order including me should bat properly in coming matches and we should try to score 20 - 30 runs each at good strike rate
Dhoni expects Piyush to contribute from bat ! I would say allow this youngster to settle down as spinner and cement his place, later he can groom as an allrounder

Dhobi is right contributing with the bat will give him added confidence even if he has an off day as chawla is no mug with the bat. Just 20-25 odd runs are enuf. See how bhajji batting help him out of bowling outofform.

Dhoni is Captain and holds moral responsibility of win/loss. he is answerable for all happenings in the team

Aus never take any match in joke. Aus tried their 100 percent but India was too good for them.

it was a good performance "by chance" by a C grade spinner chawla. Middle order collapse was the main reason to Ozzie to lost this match
